SOURCE: oven lock will not unlock
Unplug the range and take the rear lower panel off. Unplug the wires leading to the lock motor and check for resistance on those two terminals with an ohm meter. If it shows no resistance then the motor will need to be replaced. If it shows resistance then you will need to replace the oven control. Let me know if you have anymore questions. This will solve your problem.

My husband just figured this out.
- Follow Door removal instruction from the manual.
- There is a screw at the end of the hinge that can be adjusted.
- Adjust the screw to desired height.
- Secure lock nut.
SOURCE: GE Spectra XL44 Gas Oven, flashing "Locked Door". Can't use oven or close door
I had the same problem happen tonight. I have an XL44 self-cleaning gas range. We unplugged it for several minutes and pressed 'cancel' a bunch of times--neither worked. We finally lucked out--opened the oven door and pressed a black button on the upper left side of the front of the oven. It turned out the flashing words and unlocked our door. Weird. There was nothing in the manual about this...

All you need to do is replace the oven door hinges. as the springs are weak.
It is a fairly straight forward repair to do.
To obtain new hinges, got to:

You are correct. If the door does not lock, the self-clean function will not activate.
Spray some WD40 into the lock mechanism and let it sit over night. Then try it again.
Thank you for your inquiry, Lucie!
From what you have described your Frigidaire oven lock is stuck open and you are receiving error codes "F9" and "DR". The "F9" error code stands for runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. The "DR" code means that the door is not closed or the door latch is not recognizing the door is closed. This could be an issue with your door latch or control panel. If the reset does not help correct your issues I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. Best of luck! -Matt
