Question about Hi-Val DVD Kit (DVD6X-00R1) Internal DVD Drive

Dvd drive cannot read files

I have a toshiba satelite laptop and I'm having a problem with the DVD-ROM drive. Some times it works, and other times it does not. I am trying to lay a game and yesterday it recognized my CD, but today is says there is none present when it's in the drive. I have tried to upgrade and nothing happnes. When I check out my device drivers it says the driver is working properly. What am I to do next?

I have mentioned few steps from Microsoft. kindly follow them and the issue should be resolved.

Manually delete the registry entries loadTOCNode(2, 'resolution');Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base: 322756 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/) How to back up and restore the registry in WindowsLog on to Windows by using an account that has administrator rights and permissions. Then, follow these steps. Step 1: Start Registry Editor loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution');Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK. Registry Editor starts. Step 2: Delete the UpperFilters registry entry loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); 1. In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. 2. Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet. 3. Expand Control, and then expand Class. 4. Under Class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}. 5. In the right pane (topic area), click UpperFilters.

Note An UpperFilters.bak registry entry may also appear. To delete the UpperFilters registry entry, you must click UpperFilters and not UpperFilters.bak. 6. On the Edit menu, click Delete. 7. When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry:Are you sure you want to delete this value?The UpperFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

Note Do not exit Registry Editor. You must have this program for the next step. Step 3: Delete the LowerFilters registry entry loadTOCNode(3, 'resolution'); 1. In Registry Editor, expand My Computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. 2. Expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet. 3. Expand Control, and then expand Class. 4. - Goto Device manager
- Click on "Scan for hardware changes" icon. It will reinstall cd/dvd drive if plugged.

No it needs to be a Read write one. Check it out with Toshiba help line.

Laptop unable to detect the DVD/CD drive


check device manager? see if there is you drive? check computer managemnt-> storage if you drive is listed.... run add new hardware if not, manual instal with have disk, download new driver, and firmware.

Dvd doesnot work


file will automatically remove the Upper & Lower Filters from the windows registery. (Saves a lot of time!!).

Scroll down a bit and you will find a download link that says; "Download guided help", just click on it and save the file on the desktop and double click to run the utility. It's fast easy and safe.

Toshiba SD C2512 reading DVD but not Cd


solution for CD-rom problem: turn CW the second little potentiometer with a tiny screwdriver, just a little and try to read a CD, if it doesnt work then try turn the potentiometer again. the same solution for DVD-rom but with the first potentiometer.

My DVD-ROM cant read Video Files


Go to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager, then look down the list for DVD/CDROM Drives, click it and your DVD drive will appear. Right click on it and delete. Restart PC and windows will find your DVD drive again and install it. Try a dvd again and see if it is working, if not it's time to buy a new one i'm afraid, but they are very cheap to replace.
