Question about Garmin StreetPilot C330 GPS Receiver

Missing small adapter part

Hello,

I have a Garmin StreetPilot c330.

I lost a small, round piece that screws into the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter cord. This piece holds the fuse in place. Without the piece I can't charge the battery. Is there anywhere where I could obtain this little part? Thanks.

Hi marshaw40,

I'd recommend you attempt to contact Garmin support to see if they can supply you with this part. Their phone number is 1-800-800-1020 (U.S.). If they are not able to supply the part by itself then you may have to purchase a new power cord for the unit.

Best Regards,
Ken

First check the socket a cigarette lighter! You could borrow one if you've lost yours because they are all the same size. If it works then read on.. Most cigarette lighter ADAPTERS I've seen have an LED on them to tell you it's making good contact. If it has got an LED but it's not illuminating then unscrew the black cap at the tip of the adapter and check the fuse. If the fuse is blown replace it with one of the same rating. If that was no help at all then try resetting the Garmin. Unclip the face place and press the reset button. Now try turning it on. Hopefully I have given you at least one thing new to try! :) Regards, SparkGap

My garmin C330 won't power up nothing happens when I plug it in

Have you checked the fuse in the end of the cigarette lighter adapter? If not unscrew the metal end of the adapder, this will expose a fuse, replace it and try it again.

Hope this is of some help

I have a Garmin Streetpilot c330 with a car charger but it doesnt charge the battery for some reason so now my system is dead, is there anyway to fix this problem?

Check the fuse in both the cigarette lighter socket on the car and the cigarette lighter adapter on your power cord, the tip should twist off and this should expose a fuse.

Hope this is of some help.

Could not turn the power on

Sounds like a dead battery, check the condition of the power cord and the cigarette lighter socket.
Check the fuse for the socket.
Check the fuse in the power cord, the tip of the cigarette lighter adapter will twist off and expose a fuse.

Hope this is of some help.

Wont turn on

Question: Why won't my unit charge while plugged into my vehicle?
From the Garmin site: --> Answer: If your unit will not charge in your vehicle, you may need to replace the fuse located in the tip of the vehicle power adapter.
  1. Unscrew and remove the silver or black, round end piece. fileservlet?date=1&kb={6b85cfa0-194d-11dc-44cd-000000000000}&id={6e53bea0-6874-11dd-436f-000000000000}&ext=jpg
  2. Remove the fuse (glass and sliver cylinder) and replace with a new fuse.
  3. Ensure that the silver tip is placed in the end piece. Screw on the end piece.

Garmin 330 street pilot keeps shutting down. Only 3 mos. old and has been connected to cigarette lighter. What is the problem? I need a manual.

Make sure that you age getting power from the plugin.
Test: With the unit OFF plug adapter into cigarette lighter.
The Garmin should turn on automatically. If it does not,
you are not getting power to the unit. Make sure you have
good connection at the holder.
Generally it powers off by itself because it is not receiving
power from the plug.
