GE 5.8 ghz cordless phone

My cordless phones do not have a dial tone anymore, I have tried everything I can think of, do you have a suggestion? I had deleted all the incoming calls and everything was working fine but when I was done deleting the in coming calls now I get nothing no dial tone and when I disconnect and reconnect it says to press Memo and get instructions to go on but when I press the Memo button it doesn't give a message about further instructions.

Thank you

The menu will take you to registering the hand sets to the base unit
by deleting incoming calls you have disconnected from the line
follow the instructions in the user manual to get reconnected
if you do not have the user manual , go google and type in --user manual for ge ( model ) cordless phone --and down load the pdf version

SOURCE: GE 5.8 ghz cordless phone

My GE cordless phone , as well as my other phone , which are uniden cordless phone have lost their dial tones. I'm trying to reset my uniden phones by unplugging the bases and unplugging the batteries from the phones and wait for about 30 min. , then hook them back up and reset them to the bases again , they think that will work for the Uniden phones, but my GE phone doesn't have a reset program on the menu , do you have any other suggestions. Also I have a regular phone in my home and they are working properly , just my cordless phones are out.

Registering Handsets to the Base
Whichever handset you choose to charge in the base is automatically
registered to the base. Any additional handsets must also be registered to
the base before you can use them.
Be sure both handsets are fully charged.
One at a time, place each handset in the base. The charge/in use LED on
the base begins to flash, indicating the base is registering the handset.
Wait for at least five seconds, then pick up the handset and press
[talk/flash]. If the display shows TALK, the handset is registered. If not,
place the handset in the base to try again.
Press [end] and continue with the next handset.
Note:
Once both handsets are registered, it doesn’t matter which
handset is placed in the base or the charger.
When you charge the handsets, Caller
ID summary screen and the name of
the handset appears.

This can be find from uniden website.

SOURCE: no dial tone

I would contact your phone provider. It could be a coinceidence that the dial tone stopped working.
DSL does not require dial tone to work.

Can get dial tone but cant dial out

If you haven't tried it yet, reverse the two incoming line wires. Some phones have to be a particular polarity. I have had a case where things were working, then a lineman somewhere reversed the connections at a pedestal someplace and my phone would not dial.

I am having problem with my cordless phone.

Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

GE 5.8 ghz cordless phone

Get another telephone and connect the telephone cord from your cordless phone to it. If it works, then you know the problem is with your GE cordless phone. If it doesn't, try replacing the telephone cord. If still no good, call your telephone company.

TONE/PULSE DIALING This adjustment allows you to select tone (touch-tone) or pulse (rotary) mode dialing. The phone is pre-set for touch-tone use. To set to tone or pulse dialing: 1. Press and hold the program button for two seconds. You will hear a beep. 2. Press the *tone button to select Tone Dialing or press #pause to select Pulse Dialing. 3. Press the program button again. You will hear a confirmation tone.
