Question about Gateway PC Desktops

Ok, i have a gateway laptop purchased ? serial #0036077576 and i purchased it under my business name, but have sold the business and now use it personally. However, when i want support i am snet to mpc and guess what when i call them i get someone who does not speak english well and i can not understand them and they do not understand me. my program is i wanted to back up my quick books as i have been doing and it said you do not have a cd in the e drive, but i had one in there. so i put in another and it siad the same thing what could be wrong.

Best way I have found to back up quickbooks is to get a thumb drive (flash drive) and back up to that. Its easy a small device, rewritable and you can port your QB backup to any computer with a USB slot.

    PS: Rember that you need to get a drive big enough to hold your current size backup and large enough for your backup size to continue to grow. 2Gig should be enough unless you have 100's of years worth of QB data LOL

You cannot use a SATA (serial ATA HDD in this machine. You need a PATA (parallel ATA) HDD, also known as IDE, ULTRA IDE, ULTRA ATA. This has a 40-pin ribbon connector & a 4-pin power connector.

this cd can be purchased by contacting gateway suppot center via telephone. they will ask for your systems serial number and part numbers located on your pc. the replacement disk will be able for purchase using a debit or credit card for under 20 dollars.

hi, you can get the key by using a search engine such as google type in tye software name followed by "serial" or "key". However I recommend that you purchase the software for best practice.

Since Philips has sold their name and US product lines to the junk dealer Funai, it might be available under their name now.
You could also purchase an external drive to expand your possibilities; they are on eBay for ~ $50 US.

The camera on my laptop, model MT616 does not work anymore. If I click on the camera button it does nothing. It was purchased 12/11/2007 so I hope it's under warranty. Connie...

I can't find your laptop in Gateway's database. Try poking around here, either with your serial number (this page) or by clicking the "Browse all downloads" tab and typing in your model number, which may be missing a number.

If you're browsing, hit "Display results" at the bottom before you enter anything in for question 4.

There should be some Webcam software, including a newer version of the drivers and a firmware update- - which will actually make the camera itself work differently.

Also look to see if there's any software from Gateway itself. Sometimes manufacturers build their own software to set up one button to enter a power management screen, one button to enter a setup screen, one button to open e-mail, etc. There may be similar controlling software for your camera.

it shows the hard disk of your laptop is un-detectable. check the hard disk connector/power, if u can or consult a technician for the same. if it does. then put the system disk in to cd drive and boot from it.

I have a Gateway Laptop purchased in 2006.Serial # 0036378223. This computer warranty is expired. It has recentlty gotten dropped and damaged. I would like info on sending it in to Gateway to be fixed.
