DVD VHS player not working (by 2 users)

Hi this morning I turned on my player but it has no power.. I unpluged it and put it into another outlet it still has no power.. I have a tape stuck in it... Not sure how to get it out..

I also have an Emerson DVD/VCR machine (EWD2204) that will not function at all. This started a couple of weeks ago, last night I tried again and it came on. I was playing a VCR tape in it and it worked fine until all of the sudden the power went off and then nothing again. I also have a tape stuck in it now and can't get the machine to turn on again. I have tried unplugging it for 30 sec. - 1 min with no results.

Can you Help with these DVD Players problems?
