-   I have exactly the same problem with my Labtec Ultrawireless desktop USB.
P/N: 867768-0100
PID: PN719KA
My mainbord is a Asus P5B. Problem was with all Bios''s, so it is not a bios issue.
I thought i went crazy - checked everything Bios, Memory, graphics.
I changed all, Vista stayed unstable.
Even during installation of Vista the PC froze, after filling in the serial number... regardless of vista 32 or 64 bit.
When i booted up de task bar always frooze.
This is definitive a Labtec drivers issue for Vista.
After changing to Logitec mouse and keyboard - everything works flawlessly.
I worked as head of technical department for a computer firm, i know what i am talking about.
Avoid this product if you have Vista. XP or Linux is no problem at all.
