I'd be contacting my home owners insurance company and local power company.Local power companies will offer to repair for free in most cases.

How do i get rid of the "stop" on the display of AKZ177/IX

Switch off the circuit breaker for a few minutes and turn it back on. It might reset the oven. It's also possible that a power surge damaged something in the oven.

After a lightning storm my bosch single 30" wall oven displayed an F03 err. I turned the power supply off at the breaker for one minute as directed by the oven's manual. This action did not...

Find out what the F03 error is for and then check out the appropriate area. If there was a strike of surge the most likely place to look for damage is the area where the electricity first enters into the device.

Following electrical storm. No display and oven control erratic

Possible high voltage could have damaged the power supply or the main program control board. So you can remove the control panel after disconnecting the power cord. If you notice any capacitor leak replace and test. If not the processor/ controller IC must be checked for failure to drive the display and run the program due to a static damage to the chip.

Whirlpool gdb307 oven display not working after storm

Some things to consider:

1. There are two thermal fuses on this unit
- one fuse is in the bake/broil element circuit and if blown, would cause no-heat but the display would still light.
- the other thermal fuse is in series with power to the control board, if blown the control board display would be dark and no oven related functions would work

2. There is a low voltage transformer that supplies power to the control board that sometimes gets damaged by lightning surges. This would also cause the display to be dark with no oven functionality.

3. We repair a number of these control boards that are damaged by lightning storms. Here's a link to a related article that might be helpful:

Oven not working after a power outage. Stove top DOES work.

HI, The power surge has, essentially, destroyed your main control boards circuitry. This will happen during a power surge. Most oven control board are not protected from this type of potential damage. To confirm, simply unplug your unit for 5 minutes. Once the five minute reset has passed, simply re- introduce power to the unit, and observe. If you experience the same issues after the five minutes reset, this will confirm the damage to the control board.

It must be replaced if the damage persist after the reset.

Cold Whirlpool AKZ451!!

You may have had a surge during the storm. Check main control board in console for damage.

The oven was continuously beeping last night. Hit everything on the display setup to try to get it to stop. Eventually it shut off all together(the beeping and display) not the only thing that is showing...

Ok. this is a control fault. the chip set is damaged. this will usually happen when there is a surge or power failure during a storm or faulty transformer on the outside pole. you Will need to replace this damaged Electronic control board if possible . it has failed.

You can confirm my diagnosis by cutting the power to the oven for 5 minutes. this will reset the control. if the oven continues to react this way with the constant beeping and, non action, this will confirm major control failure..It is possible that this reset will recognize the program and fix this fault but, normally, a fault of this nature will require the replacement of the Oven control board.

Supressor, transient

Hello hward,
Welcome,

You said, Hello from Baton Rouge, La. just recently nailed by Hurricane Gustav.......
during the hype of the storm, I think my wife's double oven took a electric surge and started smoking. I visually inspected the damage and saw a badly burnt and scarred flat saucer looking component (suppressor, transient)...I have ordered a replacement part and would like to know if you think that replacing this item will be all I will need to do..

If the range was under water I do not think this will be the only problem.
I believe it will cause you endless problems if it got submerged!
you may end up replacing this water logged unit!
