Question about Canon PIXMA iP1500 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Printing faint to non-existant, have changed black ink and reloaded the driver

First the printer makes a very loud whirring sound. Sometimes more than once before it will click and grab the paper.

The printing part sounds fine, but the quality is unreadable. Each line varies from light to faint to none.

I've changed the ink cartridge twice! (Just the black one, I only use greyscale.)

So I ran all the things on the properties maintenance page. No help.

Did notice that the alignment page printout shows consistent ghost images-- Each "3" for instance has the exact same flaws, each "+" same streaks...

Scanner component scans and prints normally. Trying to print off an e-mail is a different story. The little screen says 'printing' and it goes through the motions. You can hear the carriage travelling line...

check the ink cartidges (the color ones) scanners use just black ink to print with (all grayscale) if you can't buy/ afford cartidges right now (who ISN'T broke these days!?!) then set the preferances on the printer to "black/ grayscale" and see if that works ( also is a good test to see if ink is out)

Black printing very faint or not at all, cleaning print head makes little difference Brand new Cartridge

Sometimes it will print faint black even if there is a new black cartridge, because the color cartridge needs to be replaced as well.

Make sure that the cartridges are genuine Kodak cartridges, as well, for maximum performance and reliability.

Cleaning heads can use up a lot of ink, by the way.

My printer is printing very faint, in both colour and black & white. The cartridges are new. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

This might be sometimes to the low black ink present in it and very often you would assume that the reason is that there is low black ink in the printer. If the black ink is low then you could replace it with a new one.

Canon i860 printer is not printing from the 3eBK cartridge. I changed the cartridge and have deep cleaned the nozzles. any ideas

Are you using OEM cartridges or reloads? Sometimes the reloaded cartridges gum up the nozzles especially the black ink. If you have not tried an OEM black cartridge I woud try it.

IP5000 3ebk problems

Hi,

I had a similar problem. Pages in blue, but nozzle check in black. Tried what you tried. Changed the ink ($). Still no change. Then tried the maintenance option to clean the bottom plate. And now it is working. Go figure.

Must have all the cartages and then must have ink. The software is programed to stop all printing unless all ink is available. Sorry.
