We had a familey member to stop buy. and he helped with the connecting, PC to TV. The converter we had didn't work, so he used a composite cable that will go from the S-video connecton on the PC to the s-video connector on the TV. on my unit its component video Input 3. Then set your TV on Input 3 . ON your PC hold down the Fn tab then press the f5 {which has a picture of a TV and PC] Tab you should get 3 large Icons press the F5 until you select[ highlight] PC/TV Icons. with both PC and TV on . You should have the picture from your PC on your TV. How about some sound? purchase a cable with headset adapter and plug in pins that will fit the audio recepticable on your TV. Plug the headset adapter into your PC headset recepticable and the pin plugs into the Input3 audio recepticable. you should then have picture and sound. My sound and picture are great.

What model of TV was it please,
Does your computer have tv out video card installed?
For video to tv you will need a vga to tv converter, this is an external device and will work on the computers vga output straight into a vga input and give you 1 x vga out,1 x rca out, 1 x s/video out, comes supplied all prebuilt with onboard graphics solution. no extra power required runs straight of vga output.
Once the computers video output is established then set the TV up to tune into the converters output signal.
HD TV can be set up to run thru rca and components and if model is late enough shuld come equip with serial vga input for computers.Other than that HDMI seems to be the better quality of picture over rca component.Cost verses dollar really and function.

Cheap fix VGA to TV CONVERTER
Expensive Fix HDMI to HDMI

(it is posible to hdmi over cat5e)
NO COMPARISON FOR QUALITY.

Can I hook up my Toshiba laptop to my Sharp Aqous TV, if so what connections do I need, ?S-video? I have an SGA connection on my laptop but not on the TV?

If this is the exact model Sharp Aquos television you have then you would have to have a laptop that has hdmi or dvi. You can try S Video on a laptop but the laptop's resolution would have to be so low that most laptops cannot accommodate this. You're right; this television does not have a VGA (RGB cable) input.

You cannot set your PC video resolution to 1920x1080 @60Hz?

Per user manual:
1. Set computer to a resolution supported by your HDTV (see Preset PC Resolutions). If your
computer supports it, we recommend 1920x1080 @60Hz.
2. Turn off the power to your HDTV and Computer.
3. Connect the VGA cable from your computer to the RGB PC jack on your HDTV.
4. Connect the 1/8-inch audio cable from your computer to the RGB PC Audio jack on your HDTV.
This step is optional and only needed to transmit audio from the computer through the TV.
5. Turn on the power to your HDTV and computer.
6. Select RGB using the INPUT button on the remote control or side of your HDTV.
Note: Refer to your PC computer user manual for more information about the video output requirements.

I would check the video setting on your laptop. The resolution or refresh rate might have been changed and the LCD TV might not be able to process the signal. Try changing the laptop's resolution to the lowest setting(right-click on desktop and pick properties) and see if the TV produces a picture. Also verify the video output on the laptop is working by hooking it up to a computer monitor if available.

Trying to hookup vhs analog player to hd proscan

your toshiba player should have output composite video and audio which are color coded Yellow for video, red and white for audio same goes for proscan hdtv. connect between the two keeping in mind color of cables. If the toshiba player is really old you can connect the RF cable output to antenna input to the proscan tv and watch taped programs from the player on channel 3 of the proscan tv. If then you want to keep the hookup and still watch HDTV connect the antenna to the toshiba vcr and when you shut off the vcr you can now watch the hdtv channels as usual because now you are bypassing the antenna to the Proscan tv. Hope this Helps..

Samsung hdtv to compaq pc

There should be a setting within the comp. Is it connected to the comp monitor and the tv? Perhaps from the comp to the tv with the monitor from the comp as well? Well if so, you may need a certain setting within the comp. Check under (on xp) display properties, and then under the settings tab. Please rate!

Gateway PC to Sharp Aquos

You need to go into the display settings of your computer once the cable is connected and change it to a dual-monitor setup. I'm going to assume you have windows 98/xp, you can find the display settings in your control panel under the title of "display". it'll be under the last tab of the window called "settings".

Keep it in mind, in reality there are a ton of ways to run two monitors. Chances are the one that your going to find easily is to "extend" your desktop onto your tv, making them both run as one screen. Hopefully that doesn't happen to you (you'll probably find it extremely annoying). Also, some video players wont let you play videos on your TV because their worried that your going to copy the video onto vhs.

The display on your tv will be blurry with s-video, and you wont be able to read text easily (hd-tvs are different if your video card is new enough to use the hd-tvs features, and/or your hd-tv can run computer displays. You can purchase a computer monitor to hd-tv cable online or at computer stores) but videos and pictures will look good. And if you have problems and you accidentally switch your display to the tv and your monitor is off, turn off the computer and unplug the s-video, it should go back to normal although it may happen if you put the s-vid cable back into the pc.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I have lots of experience doing this.
