Hi, I've got a 3 year old Polaroid 3211-TLXB. up until recently it was working fine. One day there was a sizzling sound and the TV started smoking. Now I have sound and no picture. I've done some research and hear it's a common enough problem. A capacitor blows and fries a power supply to the screen. Does anyone know where I can get replacement parts other than the manufacturer?

hi there, this may helps you a bit. Try to unscrew the back casing. visual check the power supply section. If you notice some electrolytic capacitors are bulgy or bloated, it needs to be replaced with same value and type. Felt the power transistors which one really heats up. Over heating of electronic components or part do affects the pictures. this also need to be replace. doing preventive repairs can extend the lifespan of your TV.
Adding exhaust fan may also lessen the heat builds up on the board. Proper ventilation also helps in the performance of the TV. If this do went well maintain the fan.

its possible its coming from the digital board which you can get a a whole to exchange its around 400.00 or so or its the lcd panel which is as much as a new tv if you have a servicer there for polaroid you might talk to them
I think I may have just solved this issue. Remove the back covers and turn the tv on until it the screen goes black. There will be a little red led that will light up when the screen goes black. right above that light there is 4 little swiches, the bottom one is labled BURN. Switch that one to the opposite direction. I don't know how but mine has been working for a couple days now with no issues. GOOD LUCK!
My Polaroid TV 3211 TLXB (2007) was working fine, turned it off and now won't power up, volts on power supply are normal, red light is on. Control boxes are avaiable. Could this be the most likley problem and are they interchanable with other similsr sets. ? Thanks for any help
