Hi bongodboss

The user manual for this amp has good instruction on how to connect it. You can download a copy from here.

Page 9 has info about using the amp for "bi-amping" The amp is only a stereo unit, so to do a 3-way system, you will need at least 1 amp mono in bridge mode for lows, and other stereo amp for mods, and another stereo amp for highs. You could use the internal low pass filter for the bottom end, and a 2 way crossover for the mids and highs. Much simpler doing a 2 way system with composite bins for mids and highs, and subs for lows. You only need the 2 amps and use the low and high pass filters inside the EP2500. If you need anymore help on this, I am happy to talk to you more.

robotek

I am trying to bridge two macrotechs 1200 and I am getting a loud huming noise . No sound. Just that noise. When I run them in stereo mode they work perfectly fine. What causes that?

Let's review the setup procedure and precautions. This is for bridging the amplifiers within a single box.
  • The mono-stereo-bridge switch must be in bridge position
  • The input signal must be connected only to Channel 1. NOTHING should be connected to Channel 2.
  • The Channel 2 level control should be turned all the way down. Turning it up will amplify common-mode noise.
  • The + speaker terminal is connected to the red binding post for Channel 1 and the - speaker terminal is connected to the red binding post for Channel 2. Neither side of the load should be grounded.
  • There are no connections to the black binding posts. They should not be grounded or shorted together.
It does not seem practical to bridge or parallel two MT 1200 boxes; it would be very difficult to get the levels and offsets precisely matched. If they aren't matched, you will get oscillations or common-mode amplification - that is your humming noise. The bridging switch makes six changes to the circuitry to get the amplifiers properly interconnected in one box so this won't happen in the recommended configuration.

I have my amplifier connected to my dj system only one speaker of the bass works wich is channel 1 channel 2 does not work and fault button keeps on blinking red?

The XTI 2k has lots of DSP options built into the front panel. If it's your intent to run the amp in bridge mono for subs be sure than you have all settings set correct for the DSP, it's very possible that channel 2 will render in-active.

This also applies in the case if you wanted to run your subs in stereo and the internal settings are set for bridged mono.

Another possibility would be if the DSP was set with a crossover. If you put a cross-over point (Low Pass Filter) on the high side of the sub, if becomes the High Pass Filter of Channel 2. Audio would pass if there was no other filter sets, but would not if you were using a crossover and then hitting the subs.

Rotel power amp

some amps have a switch to bridge them rather than wiring a bridge meaning output is mono check to see if yours has this switch if you do simply put back to stereo

Hafler 9505 amp, has noisy output in mono.

Hi Don,

When you bridge the outputs , do you connect only to the ( + ) speakers terminals for your output. This is what the manual says to do.

Let me know

No stereo signal out from yamaha p 2500 s

It's unclear what type of connectors are on the end of the cables(s) coming from your computer.

This amp only works with mono 1/4" TRS and XLR connectors, not standard RCA connectors.

Did you try the Right one in the Left Channel to see if the Left Channel worked?

Refer to the following manual and read up on the connectors (page 7) and the use of the Stereo/Parallel/Bridge Switch (page 8). When it is NOT in Stereo Mode the unit only uses the Right Channel controls and input.

STEREO/PARALLEL/BRIDGE switch
Use this switch to select the operating mode.
• STEREO mode
Channels A and B operate independently (as with a conventional
stereo amplifier). The Channel A input goes to the Channel
A output jacks, and the Channel B input goes to the
Channel B output jacks.
• PARALLEL mode
The Channel A input signal is output through both the Channel
A and Channel B output jacks. The Channel B input jacks do
not function. Channel A and B volumes can be independently
adjusted.
• BRIDGE mode
The Channel A input signal is output from the BRIDGE output
jacks. To adjust the volume, you must use the Channel A volume
control knob.

setup of bridge mono mode:-1-turn your amplifier off.2-connect input wiring to channel(1) input--3-connect speaker across positive outputs terminals-do not use negative terminal when amplifier is operating in bridge mono mode.4-turn down (fully counter clockwise)of channel (2).
