If its buffering the video is not playing yet. It is trying to store enough information so the video plays smooth. If the video stops buffering and it still does not show, try to update flash first then make sure you have the correct codecs installed.

Flash can be updated by going to www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html

Buffering of video while watching a stream can normally be down to Three things.
1) Your Broadband Speed is not high enough.
2) The Stream suppliers' servers cannot cope with the load on them. and only send the video in 'lumps' so to speak.
3) Your Device is not able to process the Video fast enough to display correctly.

If , for example you are getting buffering on Youtube video, then it is almost definitely YOUR Broadband speed.

The best way to watch is by downloading the WHOLE video and storing it on your machine so that it will not need to buffer.

You will have to speak to the individual video companies about the ability to download instead of just watching. It is normally a Legal Copyright issue.

I have toshiba satellite L500D. I cant download any movies or tv shows and when i watch tv from yahoo 7 it stops and starts as does Youtube....PLEASE HELP!!

When downloading videos from sites such as You Tube, the download is known as "streaming video". It fills the buffers on your machine and then displays it on your screen. If your connection is not fast enough, the buffers will empty before the data stream can re-fill them. This produces the stop start situation. The best way to overcome this is to do something else while the video plays, then come back when it's finished and replay it...it will now play ok.
If your connection is slow, then it's likey its timing out during the download of movies or TV shows, stopping the data flow.

your pc sounds really good... unfortunately, it sounds like your internet speed leaves a lot to be desired... or you need to upgrade your video card... if you have another computer and it does the same thing then its your internet speed... if another computer works great then try right clicking on video and adjusting buffer size to infinity and if that doesn't work then you need to upgrade video card...

Adobe flashplayer makes buffering downstreaming videos on mediapl

buffering is a normal process..
it depends upon the size/content or connection speed..

In computing, a buffer is a region of memory used to temporarily hold data while it is being moved from one place to another. Typically, the data is stored in a buffer as it is retrieved from an input device (such as a keyboard) or just before it is sent to an output device (such as a printer). However, a buffer may be used when moving data between processes within a computer. This is comparable to buffers in telecommunication. Buffers can be implemented in either hardware or software, but the vast majority of buffers are implemented in software. Buffers are typically used when there is a difference between the rate at which data is received and the rate at which it can be processed, or in the case that these rates are variable

When watching an online video, the video stops and starts, like its waiting for the computer to catch up. Is there a fix for this?

the only solution is to use mozila browser, this browser lets you download the video from youtube free of cost with the help of a add-on DownloadHelper. so with this u'll just have to wait for video to be downloaded and can wathch it again and again on your PC, thus saving a lot of bandwidth and by changing the setting of this add-on you can download multiple video simultaneously, but at wat rate the downloads will take depends on your net connection

This issue is related to some program that was installed on your computer or some hardware issue.
On the black screen select SAFE MODE

Then check there the possible issues.
Uninstall the last program
Be sure the computer is not virus or spyware infected.

Then restart on normal mode.

If the problem still there, you will have to

insert your windows XP CD and run a recovery console to fix that.

Videos on internet

Basically, when you try to watch videos through Internet from video hosting websites like Youtube or Google Videos, the videos will be first copied into a temporary location which is also called Buffering  in the computer before playing.
But, if you try to play video directly after opening the link, there will not be enough time available to download and save the video into temporary location(Buffer) because of which it may pause in between while playing.
However, you need to pause the video after opening so that it will be Buffered and then it will be played without pausing.
