My dometic rm2652 check light comes on after a the refrigerator is turned on with either gas or electric. What could be the problem?

First things to check would be the receptacle that fridge is plugged in to at back for power to it. You may have tripped breaker as well. Either way, you need to confirm that you have AC (hydro) voltage going to fridge, as well as test for min 11-12 Volts (DC) to back of fridge where the DC voltage connects. The check light coming on tells me you have 12 Volts DC, but just confirm. With propane on, make sure you have propane to stove etc, then try starting fridge on propane only setting, and listen or watch outside at burner for ignition. Let me know if you see it sparking, or hear it sparking.

Wattage use

Your calculations is correct - 220 X 0.7 = 154 watts.
If your fridge only runs on 220 volts then you need solar panels that charge 12 volt lead acid batteries and then use a inverter to convert 12 volts DC to 220 volts AC.

My Dometic refrigerator electric position won't cool, could it be the fuses? If so, where are the fuses? So I can check them out. Thank you

Hi Patti,

If you are sure that your controls are set to cool in electric, then the rest of this will apply to the backside of the fridge. Double check, with a table lamp or simiiar, that you have power to the outlet that the fridge plugs into. This outlet is generally a protected outlet by a GFCI outlet located in the kitchen or bath areas. If the lamp works on the outlet, keep going. If not, reset GFCI and/or check our circuit breaker panel.

There are fuses on the Power Module, located on the back of the fridge, under a plastic rectangular housing. The DC fuse will be 3 Amp the AC fuse will be 5 Amp. If you are getting any kind of lights on the front, then the DC fuse will be okay. If your AC fuse is blown, then you need to check for a shorted heater. Disconnect the heater leads (after unplugging the fridge from AC). These will be the leads at J7 and J8 terminals. Unplug the leads, and use a multimeter to measure resistance between each lead. You should have approx. 44 ohms, +/- 10%. Also measure each lead to the case of the heater (follow the wires to the chimney). Any continuity reading here indicates a heater that is shorted to the case.

Good Luck!

Dometic RM 2214R

Yep, got some ideas. First off, I am not able to find information on a RM2214 fridge. Maybe the model # that you posted is incorrect? Does it say Royal, Elite or AES on the front of it?

Measure the DC connection terminal block with a volt meter. You should have at least 11 volts, but not more than 16. While you are measuring DC, change your meter over to AC volts, and measure the ripple voltage. You should not have more than half a volt AC. If so, your converter is having issues, and may have blown the control board.

Locate the control board on the back of the fridge. Unplug fridge from 120vac. Remove the plastic cover over the control board. In the top left corner of the control board, there is a 6 pin connector. Look for a loose wiring connector here. You probably will have to push it back into its socket on the circuit board.

Of course, this is assuming that you are turning the fridge on via the on/off button on the control panel...

Water leaking out of freezer door water dispenser

The fill valve that supplies the water may not be shutting off completely. Also check to see that the lever is closing completely.
