Question about Sony VPL-ES3 Multimedia Projector
I have similar problem. Even I have tried by replacing new lamp. I am getting the same error Lamp/cover......I tried your solutions tightening the screw and removing the filter cover but I am still getting Lamp/Cover error. Would you please advice me how this is exactly solving your problem.
Actually both the filter cover and lamp covers have a long straight plastic part which is inserted in small hole. At the end of the holes are micro switches. When you fit the filter cover this switch is pressed and projector knows that it is ok to turn on. Similarly if lamp cover is loose the micro switch is not fully pressed resulting in this message. Tightening it presses the micro swith and the indication vanishes. In your case if plastic parts are intact, lamp cover screw is fully tight, filter is clean and properly seated with a click sound, then may be some micro switch has malfunctioned and you have no option but to take the projector to some qualified repariman.
