The water padal will not shut off water. when you pull the glass away water is still running out. the fridge is only a year old. how can i fix this

The switch that the paddle touchs can be seen under the top part of the inside cover. The paddle pushes against this switch and water then is released through the tube and fills up the cup or glass with water. However what ever stops the water (once the switch is released by the paddle seems to not be working) Is this a washer that might turn off or plug up the waterway to stop the water? I need to know how to get the outside vanity cover off of the door to get to the water and ice dispensors and switches?

This may still be under woranty check with sears / the padal makes contact with a micro swich and the switch enerjizes the water solinoid at the water line inlet . this solinoid may be sticking open as well. if you unplug the fridge and the water still runs its likely the water valve. if the water shuts off when you unplug the fridge it'll be the micro switch.. good luck

My whirlpool suddenly stopped dispensing water.

most fridges stop dispensing water when you open the door. Find the door switch and make sure fridge interior light goes on/off when you manually press door switch. This would show you that the door switch was faulty.

If the water connection to the appliance is one of those watts flood-safe water lines, it may have stuck shut. I've seen this happen when the house water pressure is too high.

Does it still make ice?

If so, then the water connection is good, and either the switch in the water dispenser has failed or the water shutoff valve for the water dispenser has gone bad.

Some models have a problem with the water line getting frozen, such that simply leaving the light on in the water dispenser compartment overnight and/or manually defrosting the unit can get it working again.

Subject: Fridge Noise

Sounds like one of the springs inside the compressor has broken. Not user serviceable, and the compressor will run a long time this way.

It could also be something else, but you would need to pull the refer away from the wall, remove the service panel, and provide detail information on where you hear the noise emitting from. Always replace the service panel as it plays a part in proper airflow around refrigerant system.

Water leaking out of bottom of fridge....

Water dispencer

Hi. This is normal and there is nothing wrong with your refrigerator. Whenever you replace the water filter on any refrigerator, you must run a couple gallons of water thru the water dispenser until all the air from the new water filter is out. Use a large container to do this. The water will not stop when you pull a cup away because the water valves used on refrigerators are so weak it will not close until it has pressure on both sides of it. If you don't get the air out, the air from your new water filter can go to the ice maker and stop ice production. So flush the air out of your new water filter. The water you are drinking from your drink dispenser may not be healthy. It may contain a small plastic floating substance. This is part of the plastic that the water tank is made of. The chemicals in the water do this. You will have this problem even with a new water filter because the water tank is after the water filter. You have to replace the Water Tank. The water tank is located in the refrigerator section on the bottom back wall. I sell low cost new designed Water Tanks on Ebay as username: themackshack. Good Luck, Mack
