Hi , if you make a copy through the document feeder and there is a line it is on the mirrors , they need to be cleaned , but if you do a printout from your pc or a config psge from the copier , it could be only one of two thing , either your hotroller is getting worn (it normaly wares were the thermoster touches the roller )or tour pcu unit has made its hield and needs to be replaced , you can open the pcu to see if there is any dirt , but i would not recomend this as it is a very dirty job and if you are not experienced you will end up scratching the drum and you;ll end up having to change the pcu in anycase .

if you can clean the black line with a cloth, than you need just to replace the cleaning blade, but if the black line is not removing without a cloth, then you need to replace the opc drum and the cleaning blade or both blades, some machines of this type have only one cleaning blade but some have two cleaning blade.
Check the drum history? If the yield is not yet reached, you should clean the charge roller, cleaning blade brush and cleaning blade. Remember to vacuum beneath the cleaning blade! See if that works, otherwise you should call a techie to replace the drum. If yield is not reached they will charge you for a new drum.
if you have over approx. 60-100k copies on the machine it sounds like you may need regular maintaince on the machine. to check how many copies you have press the user tools/counter button and then press counter.
THe main problems are toner spill form drom/dev units ..the transfer on the right hand door will have to be emptied every few months. the paper tray paper stops need to be checked as they come out of place and cause paper jams if not set in place..cahrge rollers can be troublesome if not cleaned every coulple of months and may cause dirty image at the sides or lines on copies..dust on laser **** glass can cause faint on sides of copies.. the fuser stripper fingers tat guide the paper need to be checked for toner under the points to stop paper jams in fuser and the lower guide plate entrance to the fuser needs to be cleaned off every now and then to stop crinklin of paper...apart from that good machine
Check the paper size dials (green dials) of the paper trays that are set to match the orientation of the paper loaded in the tray.
On the touch panel display, select Auto paper select icon and retry.
If the dials are correct and the problem still there, please then try to print the counter printout from the User tools (yellow) button or send a print from your computer.
If still with the copies being cut off, please check for toner spillage between the toner unit and Photoconductor unit.
Open the front cover, pull out these units and clean toner spill.
Clean also the laser shield glass. There is a small cover below the toner supply unit, unscrew 1 screw. Pull out the small glass very careful and straight ahead, pay attention not to break it.
Retry copying and printing.
Which feeder? Is it in the document feeder or the paper tray?
Could need a pm to replace the drum, cleaning blade, and possibly developer to get rid of the dirty copy and/or the scanner section should be cleaned as well by cleaning the glass as well as the mirrors underneath the glass.
You probably have a toner spill which has gone under the transfer roller. Open the right side of the machine and you will see a dark colored roller on the inside of the open part. Stydy it very carefully and you will see how to remove the roller including it's holder. be carefull of the springs, they love to escape. also watch as to how the bushings and gears are assembled so you get them back on properly. Clean any toner out from underneath the roller, replace the assembly and run 10 copies of a white piece of paper. this roller runs on the backside of the paper and can cause your problem. Hope this works for you. Check your paper tray as well as toner can migrate down into them.
