I have the same problem with my camera. It was my fault though, I just dropped it and this started. I have a small dent in the lense and was wondering if this could be fixed. It works ok with the flash on and in video, I just get this psychedelic effect when I turn the flash off and there is another sorce of light, especially natural light.

The lens has been damaged and the light is being reflected within
the lens casing. These reflections are confusing your picture recording mechanism
camera.

There is a strange sound coming from my camera and vibrations

Hi there.
It sounds like the lens is having difficulty moving into position, cover the lens with your thumb and spray a little WD-40 around the affected area.
With the camera card, take it out, clean the contacts and blow down the slot to remove any dust that may have built up.
Make sure the camera is turned off while you spray it.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

Camera won't turn on - makes strange sound

This is a very common issue with digital camera on either the lens gears have to be replaced or the lens barrel need replacing. I rebuild these lenses all the time for 75.00 plus shipping and the turn around is normally less then a week. if you still need help fell free to contact me at mike@digitalcamrepair.com

When using flash, my sony cyber-shot dsc-t10 takes forever to take pictures!

Have you tried Hi-Speed memory cards, as writing speed of the card affects the response time of camera, I am using Sony MSX-M2GN 2GB and it's gives me quite good response.

Other thing you might try is format the memory card using camera, camera has card format functionality and it does also improve the performance of the camera.

6 beeps, something strange on LCD, won't take photos

I'm sure 6 beeps means something but with the Canon makes their manuals they never tell you what it means.

Here is the complete owners manual for the product in case you don't have one:

http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0900001188/PSA540_530CUGad-EN.pdf

The troubleshooting section starts on pg 89.

If that section doesn't help you, Best Buy may have a solution or any camera in your area can help you.

Maybe your picture is to light... try taking it to Black & white... and then to Cartoon. I know that the Coloring Book effect does that to my over exsposed pics a lot

Display light is on but no picture full white screen

hi
it seems that the camera settings are set to a customised setting
try setting the camera back to default
(page 100 of the manual)

then try to add personal setting again
the default will remove any strange lens filters or setting affecting your images

Check the WHITE BALANCE settings and the COLOR EFFECTS settings (marked as W. BALANCE and COL. EFFECTS when MENU is pressed).

When you got to the MENU setting, press up or down arrow until you reached either selection, press the left arrow, and you'll see several options under the selected function. In WHITE BALANCE, there's an option whether you'll be shooting under sunny or cloudy skies, tungsten or flourescent lighting, and an option to select Auto or Manually set White Balance. This affects the over all color tone as it compensates the color correction depending on your shooting conditions. Fluorescent lighting for example exhibits blue spectrum, thus setting White Balance to FLUORESCENT will add warm or yellow tones to the photo. Tungsten lighting and sunny conditions exhibits yellow lighting, and setting to the White Balance on this mode will add cool or bluish tone to the picture.

Same with COLOR EFFECTS: settings include WARM, COOL, SEPIA or BLACK AND WHITE (gray scale).

Chances are, you have accidentally set the WHITE BALANCE or COLOR EFFECTS to any of these. To see if this is the problem, try shooting under SIMPLE MODE (Marked with a HEART icon at the rotary dial on top right of the DMC-FZ7). If the problem goes away, then it is with the WHITE BALANCE and the COLOR EFFECTS settings. Try setting the COLOR EFFECTS to "OFF", and the WHITE BALANCE to "AUTO".

If all else fails, then you got a problem with the image sensor of your Panasonic DMC-FZ7 Digicam

Intermittent discoloration & pixalation mainly in low light

I have seen a similar problem with other manufacturer's cameras. A connectore between the CCD and main board comes loose and gives weird picture effects. With other cameras the lens fails and gives a multi coloured solarization. Hopefully, your camera is still under warranty because I would suggest you take it to Nikon for service.
