I have a pair of AR 2-way speakers that I am thinking of adding to my home thearter. I have a 60 inch Sony LCD TV and I remember from years ago, you had to be careful with the old tube sets regarding magnets. Do I need to be concerned with my LCD TV as well. I'm sure these speakers are not shielded and I'm a little concerned about placing them on teh floor with a few feet of the set.

Re: speakers for home thearter
Hi dogbert007, Luckily, shielding your TV from the magnetic field produced by audio components is necessary due to the technology in a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) display. If you have an LCD television, you should not have to worry about placing them within a few feet as you plan. basically you would use rca cable from back of tv it will say audio out plug that into tv input on home thearter and there you go swtich home thearter input to tv and there you go also new lcd tv only come with a digital out for audio in that case your home thearter will need a digital input or you would have to buy a converter to convert digital audio output to analog aka rca plugs it cost about 50 bucks fora descent one
Their not showin it on this site, but go directly to the Sony site and look up the Sony Bravia DAV-HDX 285 system. Its an awesome inexpensive system (compare to other systems). Features everything you need including the reciever and 5 wireless speakers and 1 wireles woofer. I love the wireless stuff because your not trying to hide wires, it looks nice, and its easy to install. Hope this helps.
Bottom line for the extra connectivity and DLNA certification i would go with the Bravia Z-Series KDL-40Z4100/B 40-Inch 1080pBecause if you connect this to your in home network you can stream music videos and music off you PC onto your TV without the need for extra wired or memory cards etc.
Otherwise if you don't need this feature the other options are identical on the other TV so it is just as good a choice.
as the anwer to the customer with the short lamp live you must replace the lamp but first make sure your tv fans ar not cloged & replaced if needed other wise your lam life will be reduced dramatically
