Is the Pinnacle Studio MovieBox DV firewire device compatible with Studio 14? It is not even listed on the Import menu. The OS is Windows 7.

SOURCE: Pinnacle MovieBox USB Power

You can use a universal one but it has to be 3.3 Volts at 3 AMPS and the tip of the plug must be positive. If you have a radio shack by you they should be able to get you the correct adaptor.

Thanks,
Mark

SOURCE: Does moviebox usb work with studio 14 and vista?

This is the latest hardware device that can used for Studio 14.

Check the list.

USB based

  • 710-USB
  • 510-USB
  • 700-USB
  • 500-USB
  • MovieBox Deluxe
  • DVC-103
  • DVC-107
  • DVC-100
  • DVC-90
  • DVC-130 (There are no 64-bit drivers for this product.)
  • DVC-170 (There are no 64-bit drivers for this product.)
PCI based
  • 700-PCI (a.k.a. Pinnacle Studio Deluxe 2)
  • 500-PCI (a.k.a. Pinnacle AV/DV)
  • Any 1394 cards.

Are you using vista 32 or 64 bit system? If Vista 64 bit there is no driver for your device and the only available is 32 bit only. Aside from that you can check also the video cable you were trying to used. If firewire under import/capture tab of Studio 14 you need to select the name of your camcorder or dv camcorder. Check that out and try.

Pinnacle Software has a Vista Patch to use with their applications that you have to download and install. I had this same problem when I used Pinnacle for my remote camera system.

I have the same problem. If you have an earlier version of Studio (i.e.; Studio 12) with which Moviebox USB works, then retain that version for capture. For all else, use Studio 14 by retrieving your captured footage from your hard drive.

Pinnacle Systems movie box USB users manual. How can I get one?

I think you have to install the "Pinnacle Studio" Video Editing Software BEFORE you attach the USB Cable to the Pinnacle MovieBox. After the Studio software is installed on your PC, your PC should automatically recognize the MovieBox. You shouldn't really need a Manual for the MovieBox, it should just be a "Plug and Play" device once you install Studio. The MovieBox just translates the Analog Video signal (like the Output from a VCR- the yellow red and white cables) to a Digital signal into your PC via a USB Input. At that point on the Studio software, the "Capture" tab should recognize the signal from your "Source" (VCR, Videocamera, etc.) Then you can edit your captured video. If your PC still doesn't "see" the Moviebox, there is a dropdown box in the "Capture" settings with selections for "Capture Device". It may have a couple of choices besides "Pinnacle MovieBox" such as a "webcam" or some other video capture device. Just select the "Moviebox". The one other problem you may encounter is that some older versions of "Pinnacle Studio" don't work on Windows 10. If so, your only easy option may be to try it on an old Windows XP machine. I like the older versions of "Studio" more than the newer versions, so I still use an old off-line XP computer. Hope that works.

Camera not recognized anymore, with my editing software

What exactly do you mean doesnt recognize? Is windows not detecting the camera, or is it just pinnacle?
Solutions:
1: Check your camera, some have options that need to be enabled to be able to be detected by a pc, like a "PC mode".
2: Check your firewire cable. Try replacing it with another one.
3: Is your firewire connecting to your mainboard directly or do you have a seperate firewire card? If its a seperate card, try checking its connection to the mainboard.

I hope this helps,
