Matsita dvd-ram uj-850s on standard ibm enclosure

Im using a windows xp pro 2002, my matsita dvd-ram uj850s on an standard ibm enclosure wont burn any blank dvd nor cd discs, it just reads them, and i dont have that thing in the registry "the upper & lower filter thing" what could be the solution to this thing? maybe i should burn this to ashes!!! :-) pls help

Most machines com out particularly in that year with burn CDs only NOT and say NOT DVD they only read DVD be aware of this

You can change the boot up order of devices in the BIOS. Go into the BIOS setup then to Boot up order and move the CD/DVD dirve as the first boot device and the hard drive as the 2nd boot device.
Then you boot up with a disc in the CD/DVD drive.

DVD not working

download wintv from http://hp.com ....you click support and drivers type in pc model details select model from list and then scroll through driver list ...wintv runs on all pc's and installs all codecs required to play most media cd,dvd,svcd,vcd,mpeg1 and 2,divx etc.
also nero burning rom (suite) has a pretty good resource in it player + the bonus of being able to burn a multitude of media.

Saving in DVD format

The DVD format is VOB. In the Windows Movie Maker you can save movies as DV-AVI, but in order to burn them onto a DVD disc you should convert them into VOB files using burning software (for example- Nero).
