E16 error code

Following information is not mine but from another site. This is a cut and paste since i didn't want to give you the bad news. Now the news;

I e-mailed Canon tech support, and received a suggestion to remove, wait for 20 minutes, then reinstall the batteries. I confirmed that they were fully charged, and restarted the camera. The lens extended, but the LCD display is sometimes shot through with horizontal lines resembling static, which are recorded in photos taken afterwards (examples attached.). The camera now starts up randomly, and the lines come and go randomly. The only offer Canon has made after this was to offer an "upgrade" to a refurbished S2 IS for $299. That's about the price of a new one online! I have decided not to buy any Canon digital camera again. I would, however, like to try to get this one running with a degree of reliability. user_offline.gif quote.gif Canon S1 won turn on E16 error HELP Canon Digital Photography Forums
This is all the info i found. Hope this helps. also sorry about the camera.

How To Repair Canon

Canon does not tell much about the error codes you sometimes can read on the camera. The manuals mostly say: internal failure, please contact the Canon service centre closest to you. Most of the errors above 10 only can be solved when opening the camera. If you don't have a education in electronics and never have opened a camera, please don't go there. Cameras are very delicate.

Will not read new photos on my camera but has read others before

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

My camera says the memory card is locked and memory card error appears when I turn on the camera. I've read that I have to format the card, but won't the photos be destroyed? How can I get my pictures

There is a tab on the memory card so you will you need to remove it from the camera and change the position of this tab to "unlock" it. DO NOT format the card until you've BACKED UP your files from it (typically to a PC or USB drive (stick or external hard drive).

I have a Nikon D80 that reads "ERR", won't take photos, but shutter still fires. I tried cleaning the contacts, and still I get the ER msg. Help?

Does your lens have a diafragm ring, A ring with numbers on it like 22 16 11 8 5.6 3.5. Set this ring to the maximum. I hope this helps.

When i turn on my camera, it won't read my memory card and won't bring up my photos that are already on my memory card. I put my memory card in and i go to take a picture and it says 'pictures...

If the card was one that was previously used in another camera, you can't use it in this camera without formatting it. Move the pictures to a computer and format the card via the camera (remember that all data on the card will be erased). Before formatting the card however, make sure the battery has sufficient charge as this process can take some time. Also remember to never interrupt this process as it can damage the card. The format option can be found in the settings.
Note: pictures taken on one camera can't be viewed on another camera.

Canon G9 reads E16. What should I do?

You can go to the website: www.camerasandparts.com and get their email address. They can help you for sure. They only service canon cameras and they are wonderful for help with the canons. Pretty much the place for help with a broken powershot and they charge about half of what canon does. The work with them is superb.

Canon G9 has E16 error message-won't turn on

The likely has a short that is causing that E16 Error Code. Since it likely needs a part replaced, you can try this site: www.camerasandparts.com They'll fix any Powershot problem, these are the only models they work on. They are about half the price of Canon for Service and they do excellent work. They exclusively do the Canon Powershot cameras only, they're the guys if you need help with a problem on one of these cameras.

Nikon D200 / photos coming out magenta somtimes blue

Set it to a manual white balance colour temperature, 5200K being an average one to start testing at. Does this make a difference? If not, then the sensor, RGB lightmetering sensor or exposure board may be at fault. The peripheral area of most sensors is used for white balance metering, which denotes a sensor issue, although if the exposure board isn't reading this information correctly, then it will give varying results. However, Nikon's 420 pixel RGB sensor on the D200 may also be taking WB readings. I'll be talking to Nikon soon, but try manual settings first.
