Question about Cameras
E:61 is a Sony error code for a problem with your lens.
Initializing the camera will put all the settings back to default which can sometimes fix a camera that will not power up or does not function properly in other ways. I love Sony models that have the "Reset" button either inside the battery compartment or on the bottom of the camera, I don't have a T70 on hand to tell you if you have a reset button or not, but if memory serves I do not think you do.
If 'Initializing' the camera does not work then the next step would be to try replacing the lens. If it's still under warranty try sending it in for service. If its not, either look for a parts camera on eBay, or let me know, I know where to get new OEM lenses for amazing prices.

According to the manufacturer this message means there is an internal problem and you need to initialize the camera. Directions on how to initialize the camera are on page 71 of your camera handbook, and I have included a link to a PDF download of your camera handbook in case you need it. I hope this helps!
