Our Simon 3 is hooked up via phone line to our monitoring company that does internal testing every morning at 2:30am...since it is now mandatory to dial our area code along with 7 digit phone #, our alarm has been beeping at that time everytime with a status telling us the we have phone communication failure...area code was programed in with tech telling us that your system will only accept the area code on one of the 2 phone #'s that is being dialed to the alarm company, which still gives us the same problem...is there a fix for this?
-   I have a ge system that will not communicate with the monitoring station. The tech changed the software code to go to ge and the system worked fine. when the tech changed the code back to the monitor station it would not work. whats up?-   ydorb

-   Wow, I am happy to hear that someone else has this same problem. I intend to call the security company for the third time and tell them that they either fix the system free of charge or disconnect it. I'm tired of waking up on the 16th of the month at 1:15 in the morning. I'll let you know if I find out anything.

Pick up your house phone and dial the number that you send your signals to. Listen for the error message from the phone company. If you hear a fax machine tone then its trying to communicate.Make sure you have long distance carrier.If you here the fax machine tone then you may have other programming errors..
Hi, I have been following your case for a while now and start to think that you should switch to another alarm company, I mean if they can't fix such a simple problem with a tech (!?!?) to me, as an alarm installer, it is unacceptable!, in Canada we had the same problem and did the change and life went on..sorry for my typo mistakes it is because i have a french accident (i am from Quebec, Canada).
