Hi Raj, please describe the error details( paper jam, color lights, blinking, solid, toner is original /refilled ? Recently changed-opened the fuser or the drum ?
To reset the drum error for a Brother DCP 7010 printer:
Turn the printer on and leave it like that.
Open the front panel.
You should see on the screen a message : drum change. Press "yes".
After that, the LED that was flashing near the drum will stop alerting.
Disconnect the Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable from the back of the product, but leave the product turned on. Open the cover of the product and remove the print cartridges. Close the cover and wait for the Insert Ink Cartridges message to display. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product and wait for one minute. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button. Open the cover and reinsert the print cartridges. Close the cover. If prompted, print a calibration page. Reconnect the USB cable, and try to print a print job from the computer.
May I know the exact error messages in the printer screen. If it's green and yellow lights that are flashing you need to push more the two cartridges that you replace....also try to clean it using the printer program installed in your computer....good luck and hope it will help....
Power cycle the printer. If problem remains, try a partial reset. You can do the partial reset as follows:
1. Unplug and replug the unit.
2. when lights flash on power up, hold down the ON/RESUME and PAGE SIZE buttons together.
3. When only the ON/RESUME button light flashes, you can release the buttons.
4. When the lights stop flashing, the reset is all done!
If problem remains, you are fully justified to ask HP to replace the unit for you (well, if you're still in warranty!). Good luck :)
unable to clean is the error 46. You have to change the waistinktank and to reset the error code:
Buy/order a new waistinktank from a service partner (see brother homepage). Open the printer (use pictures to know how to):
The waistinktank (ALTTINTENTANK) is the plasticcover with the white felt in it (should be gray/black now) and the two tubes (gray/white). Unplug the tubes and change it to the new one. Reassemble the printer. After power up press menu then start mono (B/W) then 4 times arrow-up: maintenance should be displayed and printer beeps with flashing buttons. Press 8 and 0 (zero). Press severaltimes (about 15-20) start mono (b/w) until purge (Nummer is about 6425) is displayed. Press 2 7 8 3. Purge is 0000. press stop. press 99. machine comes up again. thats it.
BTW: YOu cant clean the waistinktank. Buy/order a new one! If you reset the purgecount without changing the waistinktank ink will flow into the machine!!!
