You might check out the Informative article at Ezinearticles.com to fix the freezing problem as the article gives the information about a DIY guide, (though i don't remember the name of the site) but you can check the article from http://ezinearticles.com/?Xbox-360-Freezing-Fix&id=1527369

It needs ventillation because when this happens it means that it needs cooled more so put it in a more open enviroment. This all happened to me. Then I got the "red ring" or the red "eye"

The PS3 works fine but freezes in career mode only. Is this also an over heating issue?

It could be an over heating issue but freezing usually means you've got a weak Laser Eye. What you should do is next time it freezes eject the game and let it sit there for 5 minutes. If it goes back to the DashBoard then you've just got a weak laser eye which although more expensive that's a simple repair able to be done by yourself. I can help you in takeing the machine apart, or i can refer you to an Over the Internet companie such as GamesaGalore.com If you provide me with the serial number I can tell you which Eye you're going to need to order & how to go about putting it in.

Having trouble reading discs. Game will start up sometimes but will freeze up 5 minutes into game. Seems to read and play DVD's but not games. Not sure if I need a new eye? I already fully restored...

First of all you should scan your Windows registry which is the root cause of computer freezing. you have to repair your registry using reliable registry cleaner and PC optimizing tool. When there is error in registry then its data is disorganized. And this data is not in good condition to run games at an acceptable speed. PC optimization tools use defrag technology which is helpful to fix computer freezing

Games freeze up during play

It's an eye problem. You'll want to clean or replace it so the games will be read like they're meant to be.

To clean it, take a kleenex and wipe it on top: be sure not to let your fingerprints get on it; that can make the situation worse due to oils - even if you wash your hands first. Now if the outer wipe doesn't work you can try a qtip with alcohol but MAKE SURE NO ALCOHOL touches ANY PART but the eye or you can have problems. Get someone with a sturdy hand.

Playstation is freezing up

it could be one of two things... depending on if its the old ps3 or the slim ps3.... the bluray eye is either dirty or dying out and when you game freezes it means the laser has for what ever reason stopped reading. or the ps3 has gotten hot and the GPU and CPU need re flown. i have seen the freezing in the xmb menu and in games be an early sign of YLOD .

What do we do if the unit keeps freezing?

Upgrade to the newest firmware, since 3.0 had some freezing issues with some games, if your internet connection is slow this would also cause it to freeze up, make sure your game disc is clean and you can also use a cleaner avalible at the store that will clean the laser eye inside your unit

PS2 game freezes

It is definately the Eye of the PS2 Console. The part that reads the disks is called the eye. After having a system for a long time, the eye wares down. It probably needs to be replaced or repaired. I would call Sony for assistance.

What you need to do is try to clean your blu ray lens. Most of the time dirt and dust make the laser blind.Since the keh-400AAA(the laser inside) is a very precise ptic if dust get on the top is hard for the machine decoding the signal.
Is like the human eyes in some way...if you have something in your eyes you can not see clearly. If this will not solve your problem you need to replace or adjust the laser allignment
