SOURCE: 900 Service RIP software error

a 900 rip error is the engine card. located behind the system board (formatter) if you can get the printer to a ready state you can phone 1800lexmark and get a pin code from them costs about 15 bucks. if this flash does not work you will likley need a new engine card.

SOURCE: I have a Xerox Docucolor

This happens on occasion, reboot the RIP server. You are definitely communicating but for some reason the RIP server has stopped responding. After you have rebooted the server make sure RIP is running on it, then try to print again. Should work fine.

Thanks
Tim

SOURCE: HPz6100 rips but doesn't print

Try going into the Web interface by typing the ip address in internet explorer instead of an web address. Go to the setup tab and on the left is a date/time link. Go in there and change the date on the plotter to before the expiration date to see if that takes away the message. Hope this helps.

Printer dose not print

From Dell's site:
Here's what did help:
1) if you disable in the web interface, under Printer Server SEttings the HTTP Server Enabled, and the HTTP Config Enabled - the problem WILL go away. HOWEVER, you will loose the ability to remotely administer these printers.
2) Just yesterday Dell supplied a firmware upgrade that is to fix the 900 RIP errors. The file name is: 551_061.fly
This is a firmware upgrade that is to fix the problem, then you do not need to unenable the web interface.

STEVE you have to print it as a tiled image. there is an update on the epson website for this issue. basicly anything over 90" you have to tile as two images split in half with no border in between if that makes sense. they explain it well in the update. when its something 120" x 36" lets say i run the set up at 36 x 60 then go to the page set up and there should be a box for tie image when you preview it again it shows the tiled image put back to back. you also have to tell it toreverse the print. i use adobe cs2 illustrator and it works well.

The error message on the display was error message is 900.00 service RIP software. When printing large data files, such as a PowerPoint presentation, the printer would error out.

Per Dell's recommendation I configured the virtual printer to not spool the print jobs and send them directly to the printer. This seems to have corrected the issue so far.

Since I have HP printers on the same print server and none of them have had any kind of issue printing the same large files, I starting to think that the problem is due to either bad printer hardware or print drivers from Dell.
