What does a F5 code mean on a Lady Kenmore electric range?

The oven has always worked very well. Now it won't heat up at all and the code reads F5. What does that mean, can I fix it myself?

Please post back with your COMPLETE model number (this includes the first three digits as well). There are several different manufacturers of Kenmore ranges and your model number will tell me who it was manufactured by. I need this information to determine which fault code index to follow. You can find the model number on a nameplate located somewhere around the oven door opening, or lower drawer opening.

SOURCE: f5 code on a kenmore range

Hi mrscottd,
The f5 indicates a loss of the relay drive circuit. To correct you can turn the power off to the range at the breaker box and wait about 10 minutes, then turn back on. This will reset the board. If the error returns you will need to replace the electronic range control (ERC). The part number for the control is # 338692 price $338.49 at Sears or My price $299.99 delivered. Good luck to you and please dont forget to rate me.

SOURCE: Range door will not seal properly.

Place a hammer handle between the door and the frame at the hinges..
Push on the door, carefully.
This usually works to re-seat the door hinges.

SOURCE: my kenmore elite electric slide in range displayed error and F13 and the oven won't turn on

i phoned Sears about error code f13 on a gas range, and was told to unplug the range for 30 minutes. i think she meant 30 seconds - to reprogram the microchip. i unplugged it for 15 minutes or so, then reconnected, and it worked.

SOURCE: i have a kenmore range with an e1 f5 error code

E-1 F-5 is a faulty door latch switch. Try to turn breaker off to stove for about 30 seconds then turn breaker on while someone is pushing against oven door to relieve pressure. If this does not work try selecting self-clean mode again and then cancel it. If none of these work you will need to replace the lock latch assembly. Hope this helps.

What does F5 mean

Hello Tom,
the F5 error means that the control board has detected a internal error within itself and the control board needs to be replaced. The F5 can be cleared by pushing the cancel/off button and if it retrurns the control board would defiently need to be replaced.

Kenmore Classic Grille model 911-469-8813 error F2

Over time I have had to replace the control module at the front of the oven. It gets baked by the oven heat, and unfortunately costs hundreds of dollars to replace. I have avoided further failures by making sure the downdraft exhaust fan is ALWAYS on when the oven is on. This seems to keep it cool enough.

Problem codes for self-cleaning ranges

My experience (Kenmore Ultra-bake Model 665-72002102) was that E1 F5 meant an error with the oven lock switch. In our case, the latch was partly stuck from food or other debris. Just moving the latch back and forth loosened the scale that was making it stick, and it worked again.

Error code E1 -F5- Broil element comes on and wont shut off

if it is a whirlpool, kitchen aid or kenmore by whirlpool you need to check the self clean latch asembly found on the rear of the unit. check the micro switches with an ohm meter. always remember to unplug the oven before you test any thing or replace parts. not sure why the broil wouldnt shut off. but the f5 error is definatly related to the door latch.
