SOURCE: GE frig just starting leaking water at the bottom of the freezer side door

The water on the floor below the freezer door is due to an inadequate door seal. The door is not closing completely, either a foreign object at the bottom, or more likely, the freezer door gasket needs replacing.

SOURCE: 10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

SOURCE: GE Monogram side by side not cooling

I had the same problem. GE Man said that since the unit had been allowed to warm so much, we needed to empty it, unplug it, and totally leave it alone for 24 hours for any excess water to drain out. Then, we needed to plug it in and let it run with NO ITEMS INSIDE AND NO OPENING OF THE DOORS AT ALL for 48 hours. After that, we started using it again and it was Perfect!! I thought it was a lost cause, so this worked and didn't cost me a dime!!

The refrigerator side has sweat running down the side of wall next to the freezer forming water in the bottom. the temperture goes between 41% to 48%. the food spoils. what is wrong?

Without a model number, I could only guess that the automatic damper door that lets cold air in from the freezer section is broken, frozen shut, or just not operational. The refrigerator receives it's cold air from the freezer section. If the freezer is operating correctly, I would asume the damper door is not functioning. Pleazer Appliance...

I have a GE monogram side by side refrigerator and water has started collecting in the "express chill" drawer at the bottom of the refrigerator side. It appears to be collecting in the "ceiling" of th

water into the fresh section or just on the floor around freezer or fresh food door. I also cannot take all credit for solutions in the area of refrigerators leaking water. Every person contributes their own experience so those that have should also be rewarded for their own efforts. I am pretty sure you are having a defrost by CouponDropDown">drain blockage problem. Most defrost every eight hours and over a period of time the drain line that comes down from freezer into a cup like object top middle and back of the fresh food section. If blocked by gunk or ice you will see trails of liquid leaking down the rear wall of fresh food compartment until it reaches the crisper drawers. This is not always the same with every model as you may see frozen ice flowing down ther rear wall of freezers on side by sides. Here is an example Click here=> Whirlpool Leak Photo taken by TechnicianBrian He has been around a good bit and deserves credit for his contributions. Here is another way to make this look more si mple in clip below. TechnicianBrian.com And in this photo are several parts listed in photo group #1 were it is most likely running down the wall=> MagicChef CTB1921AR fresh food section. If you still have questions please ask and rate me if I was able to explain this well enough. Every refrigerator is made different so these are examples only. The key is to find if ice or just gunk has blocked you defrost drain. Unplug and then remove the rear panel in back of freezer. We need to see if the water is overflowing the condensate drain tray or if the blockage is in the turn the drain leads down back of your refrigerator. Much more on this page=> Leaking Refrigerators! This is a common tip so I will be placing this post and add as we go new ideas listed in Sea Breeze Tips Section. GE Monogram leaking water on right side bottom door

If this refrigerator has a Energy Saver mode, turn it on.

Then, check the door gasket for the refrigerator to make sure it's not leaking. Test by placing a crisp dollar bill on the door jamb with the door open, close the door, and you should feel resistance to pulling the dollar out. Check with particular emphasis on the place where you see water leaking or accumulating
