Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10 Digital Camera

Horizontal lines on LCD & picture; pinkish pictures

Hi,

I'm having a problem with my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T10 having horizontal lines going through the image & the LCD screen. (see image below) I bought this camera in '06 and the other day it all of a sudden started doing this(I didn't drop it, get it wet, etc.). The weird thing is, it randomly goes back to normal, but if I turn the camera off & on, it does this again! I know its not a problem with the LCD, because the pictures turn out like this when downloaded to the computer. Could this be a CCD sensor issue?

I'm asking for help because I don't plan on sending this in for repair ($150 flat rate) I would actually like to try and fix it myself using parts from the same camera with only a broken LCD. Any help or advice is appreciated!

I do yearbook for our school. I had the same problem- sent it to sony, because there was a recall with their cameras with this problem. Thought I would get it fixed if sent in- they told me was not part of the recall problem, and it would cost me $141.00 to fix. The camera was only $200.00 School said buy a new camera. Now my personal kodak is doing this- it was dropped by a student- so if you have found an answer to the problem that you can pass on, without sending it in, please let me know.

    Thanks!

If the picture aren't appearing that way when you take it, there could be some faulty wiring in the lcd display.

If the pictures turn out that way when you take them then the CCD is bad. The only way to fix it is to replace the CCD unit.

Vertical & Horizontal Lines through all pictures.

There may be the issue with the CCD (image sensor device) of the Camera.

Refer this article to confirm this.

Sony Cybershot DSC-S500 bad photo resolution problem

Electronic shutter in lens mechanism got bad and you need to replace complete lens assembly of DSC-S500 camera.
Of course new lens assembly would cost more then camera worth so best option is to buy new camera.

Horizontal LINES

If you are getting fine horizontal lines thet means the picture is over exposing. most probably the apparture or the shutter blade mechanism is not working fine. needs repairs.
