They have had my TV for 5 months! There are many more people who bought one of these POS’s. Their customer service sucks. They won’t give me a number to anyone other than them. If your TV is junk contact the attorney listed above.

    I bought one of these televisions in November of 07. It worked correctly for 11 months and then I could not change the channel, adjust the volume or anything else from the set or the remote. I have been unable to reach anyone at any of the 800 numbers in the paperwork. I went on-line and found the company name and number. I called and they agreed to repair the TV and send a shipping label. I never received it. I called back & the number was disconnect. WHAT's UP WITH THAT!!! When I went on-line to research the company for again, I found out that this is a problem with all of the TV's! I also found out that some of them were being repairs only to have the problem reoccur. When I saw an article from WRAL Five on Your Side today I decided to do more research and found out about the law suit. I want in. That's alot of money! Sherrie' Gillis

    I have an ilo 42" plasma tv that will not turn on, it just clicks and clicks, I contacted wal-mart, they gave me a service number, and that number is no good, I have had it going on 10 months, and it has been broken for 4mo, any help would be appreciated.

    Was given 32" as a gift therefore no receipt.... it will shut off on it's own... sometimes won't turn on.... Please let me know what is discovered with this investigation... I have called Wal-Mart, and they assured me they haven't had many problems with them, but unless I have the receipt they can't do anything for me... (then I got a lecture about keeping receipts, although I'd explained it being given as a gift.) Unfortunately, the person who gave the gift and I are no longer on speaking terms... difficult to ask for paperwork at this point.



    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I have the same problem; cannot change the channel, adjust the volume or anything else from the set or the remote. Can power on/off the television with the remote. Can't bring up the menu box to allow external devices (DVD Player) to connect - stuck on Composite. I have never been unable to reach anyone at any of the 800 numbers listed in the paperwork. When I went on-line to research the company, I found out that this is a common problem with all of the TV's! I also noticed that some of them were being repaired only to have the same problem reoccur. When I saw an article mentioning a lawsuit about these TV's, I decided to look into it. On a side note - I am able to get the channels to change and control the volume through the cable box. What good is this if I can't use my DVD player? sziz

    Have had our tv just over 2 years. TV would turn on and have sound only and it would take a minute or two then get a picture. Today it turned on and it shut off nothing tried it later and again nothing. And when you try to call you get the run around of automated numbers and no live person. Will NEVER EVER by this brand again..

    ILO 32 in LCD/HD sucks.

    My remote won't work. The TV won't turn on. The red light comes on but the remote won't turn on the picture.

    The customer service center is fake.

    The person answered the phone with out stating the company then transferred me to "technical support" he told me to unplug my tv and hit the source button. He said the TV was not getting power from the outlet. His brain is not getting power.

ILO is a WALMART brand..Walmart has different manufacturers make their brand tvs..so you obviously have no clue what your talking about.

When I turn the TV on it almost immediatly turns back off


This model has very SHlTTY capacitors that are located too close to a heatsink and several other problems.

Also, Polaroid had a class action lawsuit against them due to their TVs being horrible quality and fire hazards, flase claims of UL listing, knowing about these issues without issuing recalls and other stuff like that.

It may be possible to repair it by replacing the electrolytic capacitors, but it might not be safe.

Best advice; save the $10-$20 on getting a new remote and get a new TV. If you look up iLo High Definition TV Problems, you'll get a whole slew of problems, most occurring within a months-years. However, if your iLo Television suddenly does have problems, contact mds@chimicles.com Matthew D. Schelkopf. He will be building a Class-Action lawsuit against whatever company makes the televisions cause according to another source on this website, three companies make it for Wal-Mart. Good luck with the TV either way; ours died tonight, and that's no joke. : (

Akai is also gone from the planet as well. Your correct that the capacitors on the power supply board are probably bad. This is the most common problem in any of the LCD tv's we have serviced. Our company located in Newton NJ does do repairs on these Ilo tv's, I'm not sure if I am close enough to you to help.

Have an extended warranty like me, well even though i did purchase one I still am pissed. I paid $3300 for this set 60v500a and like I suspect many the red cloud just crept up on them until it became a real nusiance. I called Hitachi first but they were unwilling to help at all and tried to tell me it was the bulb, thank god for the internet or I might of believed them (-$400 out of pocket because warranty doesn't cover bulbs). Went to the lawfirms website and sent an email to add me to the many names in the lawsuit hopefully will hear back from them. Was pissed to find out that the repair shop is going to replace the light engine with a refurbished part. Didn't buy a refurbished TV but get a refurbished part well will be keeping a close eye on any red clouds in the future considering I still have a year and a half left on the warranty and will be complaining of any problems. For all others I will be asking the repair man if this is a common problem to share with others. I hope the lawyers hold Hitachi responsible for this, got a lotta nerve selling defective junk to consumers but corporate greed knows no bounds i guess.

i have repeated this info on every forum i have found whith the applicable problem, hopefully if enough people join in and spread the word we can do something about this, i for one am sick of getting taken by big companys, keep spreading the word as will i thanks for getting back to me

ILO LCD Color HDTV does not change channels / volumn...just turns on/off


I recently bought an ILO 32 HDTV with the same problem. I searched every site I could find for a solution. I finally found someone that gave me the direction to replace the Main Board for the TV. This is the board that you can plug your exteranl devices into, computer, dvd, HDMI etc.

The phone # to Digital Age is 909-974-2859. These are the people who can send you the part you need. Also the remote that I have is RC-500, which is the newest remote control for the new Main Board. I would suggest getting this remote.

The price of the board was $123.89 with $10.00 shipping. It only took 4 days to get the board from Ontario California, and yes they do speak english.

I removed the backpanel myself and then removed the metal cover over the Main Board. Remember to mark all of your wires and screws so you can put them back in the same location. The connections are all quick disconnects and the board is one piece. I had the board replaced and the back panel back on within an hour. All buttons working on the TV and the remote control, and the TV is working great with sound.

But I do not have the Manual......does anyone have the manual? I am willing to help anyone with a fix for their TV for a copy of the TV Manual.

I hope the information I have given helps in anyway possible,
