I have a Panasonic DVD-35 player. Lost the remote. Have programmed my Comcast remote to work and it does. Problem I have is I need to get to the SETUP screen to make an audio change. Cannot get to screen. Is there a way to get to SETUP screen? Thanks,Dennis

It is my understanding the xfinity remote is designed only to control comcast set top box and TVs. It also can control audio receivers. It is unlikely you can control a DVD player with it.

At best you could try and use the programming instructions on page 5 of the manual and see if it picks up your DVD player. Otherwise it might be better to use the existing remote controller you have and program the Comcast set top box to it. You need to find the codes from the programming instructions of the original remote control and you will also need to know the model number of your comcast box.

You should use the component video input (which ever the TV has), you will get better pictures than the S-video.
As far as the remote control for the DVD, keep using the one that comes with your DVD player, Comcast remote does not always work, beside you get full function using the DVD's remote, that is how I use my DVD, same for the TV, Comcast remote my not be able to send out the signals to the ATV for selecting the input sources on the TV. Comcast remote is not a full functions remote.

I just programmed my comcast remote for my Samsung v1000, My comcast remote is very similar to the 3-in-1, but has a few more buttons on it (on the Comcast site, my remote looks like the DVR 3 remote, but I don't have a DVR). The code I used was 21044.

By using this code, the play/stop/rewind/ff buttons all work. I didn't test the record button. The Info button worked as "Display" and Exit button to work as Audio Source (HiFi/Mono). However, the Volume and Channel controls did not work.

This code worked for me with the Comcast DVR-3 and the Memorex 2042 DVD player: 20831
It may work with the MVD2045 as well.

If using the comcast remote to control your dvd player, then review comcast manual for the codes for dvd. If the manufacture isn't listed or the codes don't work, then there might be a range of codes in the manual you can try.
Otherwise you can contact your dvd manufacture on purchasing a new one or get a learning remote.

Have you tried a google search for information about the manufacturer of the remote? They may have an updated list of codes. Try calling Comcast also as they may have a contract with the company that makes the remote.

Since the codes that Comcast gave you did not work, there is a very high possibility that the remote control is not compatible with the DVD player. You cannot expect universal remote control to work with all devices, regardless of its make. Philips does not have codes for this DVD player because it is the maker of the universal remote control that sets the codes.
