Dropped my camera from about 1 foot. Now the viewfinder looks OK, but pictures now have colored horizontal lines across pictures.

I have the same problem with the lines, but now my screen went completely black. It will take video fine, but no pictures.

I have the same problem. The screen looks fine but after I take the picture, there are white horizontal and vertical lines on it. I checked the website given here but according to it, I don't have a faulty shutter. I had another Kodak EasyShare camera before this one and it did the same thing. It just started randomly.

I just bought my camera two months ago, hardly used it and just turned it on and found that the viewing screen has horizontal lines running through it. What is wrong with it and if I take a picture will it have lines running through it as well?

Not working

If the stripe is only on the display, it could be it or the connections to the display, or only one switching transistor is defect.
If you don't see the line on the picture, when you zoom in, or when reviewed on a computer, you sensor is o.k.
If the camera is brand new, return it to the shop. If you don't have warranty anymore, try to live with it, when it is just a stripe on the display.

Image has lines and pink in colour

This maybe two problems, the pink color hue in the picture and lines from lens shutter problems. Your LCD is still good. You have to replace motherboard and lens.

When I try to take a picture, the LCD displays a lot of colorfull squiggly lines instead of the scene that I want to capture. When I turn it ON, the Zoom lens extends normally, then the colored lines...

This would be caused by a defective CCD sensor inside rad this advisory from canon below:

You might want to consult canon for repairs as they are aware of such defect, its all across models here not just yours even nikon is experiencing these issues. Most of the boards where manufactured over seas calling for this advisory.

When looking through the display screen the picture has a pink tinge. When reviewing the pictures they're definately pink in colour, especially the blues.

Try taking pictures and download them to a computer. Check the colors and evaluate the quality compared to what you have seen in the LCD display.
If the pictures are good and the colors seem to appear good on the computer, then some thing is either not adjusted correctly for the LCD or you may have a menu setting which is incorrect. Check all setting in the menus.
Test the camera again, and see what the colors look like in the LCD display.
If both the LCD display and the pictures on the computer are the same, then some problem exists in the camera, and may need fixing, or sell on a site such as Ebay for parts or repair as is.

Lines across the LCD screen

Two things can cause lines across the LCD either horizontal or vertically. The first (and most likely) is a small crack in the display wafer. LCD stands for Liquid Cristal Display. They are very fragile and can be easily damaged if dropped. I broke one in my pants pocket.

The second would be if a pin on the ribbon cable (to the LDC wafer) was not making good contact. If you disassemble the camera it is possible to clean the contacts using contact cleaner (or alcohol). Only attempt this is you are willing to replace the camera if you don’t put it back together properly.
