Hello,

You cannot delete the icon from the task bar as it only displays the start up programs running on the computer. I have given the steps below.

Click start, than click run. In this box type "msconfig" without quotes.
You will see the list of startup programs. Uncheck the ones related to the Simple center Media.
Click Aply, Than click close, than click Restart computer now.

The program will not load automatically and you would not see the icon in the taskbar.

I am sure this will help. Please update me on the same.

Regards,
Sammy
On Top of the window click startup

Why do my icons don't appear in the lower right, I would like to reinstall day date calander and time

It is not very obvious. The bar at the bottom of screen is your 'Task Bar'
1. Find an empty part of your Task Bar and Right Click on it
2. Select Properties
3. Near the bottom of the menu in 'Notification Area' tick Box 'Show clock'
While you are there, it shows all icons that are on your Task Bar. If empty find the 'Hide Tasks' box and untick
4. Tick Apply and OK

I would like to display the date also at the right bottom corner of my computer. The time is already displayed there.

Which operating system do you have ?
The Window's taskbar organizes open and running programs, provides a quick way to access application shortcuts, and gives easy to access to important computer functions and utilities via the system tray. Most users of Windows center their workflow around the Window's task bar for its convenience and ease of use. With the clock function automatically enabled, users can add the date to their task bar while increasing the space for more application shortcuts.

Add The Date To The Taskbar In Windows XP/Vista Right-click on your Window's taskbar and click "Lock the taskbar" option to remove the check mark next to it and unlock your taskbar. If there is no check mark next to it, do not click it as your taskbar is already unlocked. Move your cursor to the top edge of the Start menu and wait for it to change into a double arrow. Click and hold the left mouse button and drag your mouse upwards until the taskbar physically changes in . When it does, it will add the day and the date under the time. Add The Date To The Taskbar In Windows 7 Right-click on the Window's taskbar and select "Properties" from the resulting menu. Click the check box next to "Use Small Icons" to disable the option. The icons will get slightly larger and the date will appear under the time. Click "Apply" followed by "Ok" to save your changes and exit the window.

How to check if I have an internal microphone on my dell Studio XPS 435 with windows 7?

Find the speaker icon in the task bar. Usually lower right hand side near the time and date location. Right click on it and select recording device. In the window that opens you should see a microphone icon and be able to talk and see the level change on the bar graph. If the mic is there but no audio moves I'd go ahead and double click the microphone icon and another window tab will open up. Look at all the sitting in those tabs for anything that maybe muting the mic.

Start manu is set up on the top right in my computar how to take it back to bottum left or it's original position?

LOL... my dad calls with these question all the time...

WindowsXP? or Vista.. not much difference...

Right click on the start bar somewhere where there are no icon or boxes with programs.

if the "lock task bar" is checked (I assume it is not since it moved) uncheck it.

now hold down the left mouse button on the bar, again where there are no icons etc, and drag it where you want it.

Now Right click it and check the 'lock task bar'

Peace,

I can't get my sound to work

The first thing to check are the speaker plugs. Depending on the options of your tower there could be up to six different plugs on the back of the tower. Usually the green colored plug is for audio out. Also check all the connections on the speakers for anything not plugged in correctly.

Next right click the speaker icon in the task bar. The task bar is located in the lower right hand corner of the display. A small window will open giving you 2 choices. Left click "Adjust Audio Properties". If you cannot locate it in the task bar then left click the "Start" button, left click "Control Panel" then double left click the "Sound and Audio Devices" icon. Make sure the "Mute" check box is not checked.

If you still have no sound then click on the "Hardware" tab on the "Sound and Audio Devices" window and left click the "Properties" button. This will open another window.

In this window under "General" tab check to see if it says "This Device Is Working Correctly". If not click the "Driver tab on this window. You will be given a choice to "Update The Driver" . Clicking this button will check for any updates to the sound driver.

If you still are without sound your problem may be a bad speaker wire or cable.
I hope this helps.

I HAVE A WINDOW XP HOME EDITION AND WHEN I START MY COMPUTER THE ONLY THING THAT COMES UP IS THE BACKGROUND. THERE ARE NO ICONS OR A BAR AT BOTTOM OF SCREEN.

the icons and the bar(task bar) at the bottom of the screen are enabled by the explorer.exe file

it starts automatically but in your case it is not starting

to start it when your computer starts and comes at the desktop, press alt+ctrl+delete button at the same time to bring up the task manager

when you do this a task manager shows up in a window

in task manager window click on file, it will be located on the top left portion on task manager

now click on "new task(run)"

this opens another window, in that window type
"explorer"
without the quotes "" and press enter
this will bring you icons and task bar at the bottom of the screen
