Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

1 Answer

Windows Freezing Hi Darklord1, Thanks for your answer. I have ran AVG but it comes up saying there is no threats found. Any other ideas would be appreciated. As I said in previous posts the problem only seems to occur while RIGHT clicking in either the My Pictures or My Music folders. Once the freeze happens the only way to unfreeze the system is to go into task manager and log off the user twice. What suprises me about this problem is it is happening on three computers that I know of in three different locations. Thanks for your help. Dom

Do you have Sp1 installed ? i am assuming you are using windows vista. If not i suggest you download this. if its Xp install SP1 and SP2. In Windows vista there is a problems and reporting app located in the control panel, open it up and see if you problem is there , if it is then there should be an option to find a solution, Try that option.

Also veryify that the systems are fully updated.

Dont rule out a virus or worm yet. the problem you are describing does seem to be this which can infect other system providing you copied the pics to them. Back up the pictures to anoter folder and empty the my pictures folder. save a picture from the internet to it and try right clicking then. If this works then copy back the images one by one to the my pictures folder m everytime right clicking to see if it freezes. Eventually you will find the offending image. you can also try Super Anti Spyware Remover or tuneup utilities and let it do a registery scan.

Let me know what happens

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

It seems as though the files that are used to play minecraft are either compromised or malwarebytes are seeing them as a threat. You can see details from the malwarebytes scan to see what files it is flagging for removal. Look at this list and see if any of the file paths are in minecraft. You may need to do a virus scan as well as there are a few free ones on line. have you tried installing minecraft as well?

McAfee AntiVirus is the one of the security software which uses cutting edge technology to protect your PC from threats which can cause potential damage to the system. If you have McAfee AntiVirus on your system, then you don't have to worry about any malware related threats spreading through Internet.

HI

Thank you for your query

Please download avg free (www.avg.com) and then choose the free version
Install this program and run a full virus scan you will find that bits of the virus may still be in the operating system
Once the scan is complete, you will find it has still picked up viruses, do a complete clear of the viruses and then retry

If this has been useful please leave positive feedback/vote/testimonial as

this will help me greatly - Thank you again

Hi, I would say you need to reextract the rar file using whatever program you use. This should reassociate the rar file and allow the file to open again.

Windows Freezing

Boot the system in safe mode
1.) restart the system
2.) pump the F8 Key until a screen comes up with different options
3.) select safe mode,

Try right clicking there and see what happens,, I,m guessing here this is a result of damages done by a previoulsy removed virus (GUESSING) it is possible that the same one could have been shard by all 3,,

I'd advise you'd uninstall norton and use the new avg free

Let me know what hgappens and we can tgake this a bit further

Malware threats

What your seeing is called Adware, they are trying to make you think you are infected to buy their software to remove it.

What you need to do:
Go to www.ewido.com a reseller of AVG, download the software and run a FULL scan once complete delete the threats its finds.

Thanks,
