Make sure you are not using the power antenna lead to trigger the amp for your mid/highs, I just had this issue with the oem amp in my truck. When I chose any other source other than radio everything would die except bass. I used the ant lead for the amp for my door speakers and the amp trigger for my sub amp.

The volume is noticeably lower when listening to the radio. It sounds normal on CD, Aux and MP3. I know it has a built in amp. Could this be the issue. Thanks.

You have not mentioned what type of radio you have, what car it's installed in, and what other audio equipment you have. I will assume it's an aftermarket radio, and it's common that the tuner's signal strength is not going to be as powerful as the other sources. If the built in amp is used, then it's used all the time, with all sources, including the tuner. Some brands will have a loudness offset function wherein you can lower the power output of the CD/Aux/MP3 inputs to volume match the radio, but there's no fun in that. There's not a way to make the tuner play louder, unfortunately, aside from adjusting the volume when using the tuner section. Technology has brought many advances, including a much higher signal to noise ratio, which is why digital trumps analog in this instance. This is what you are experiencing, which is not necessarily a technical issue, but a technology issue.

Different volumes on different inputs When I'm

Some TV's have sound adjustment settings for outputs such as HDMI. It might be turned down. If you have an optical connections on both TV and sound system you will get better sound with that.

The sound stopped working on my koss KS2503. Yesterday everything worked perfectly fine. Today there is no sound. Everything else seems to work. I checked all the connections and have had no success. Is...

unplugg your tuner from the AC wall outlet then check the setting on the tuner do not try to watch and listen to the tv only try to listen to the radio or a CD and select the right option on the tuner to do so. If you have sound on any of the functions....radio or CD/MP3 then the problem lies on the setting not correct for the TV/VCR/DVD mode.

I can't figure out how to get the player into mp3 mode. There is the button that changes between CD and tuner, but that doesn't do it.

Here's what they don't tell you: AUX isn't automatically an option when you scroll through the SRC button. You have to turn it on. I know, I know...stupid. I had to contact Kenwood (the maker of the unit) directly to get an answer.
  • First, press the SRC button repeatedly until it displays STANDBY.
  • Then hold down the Menu button until MENU is displayed.
  • Next press up or down on the right control knob, to scroll up or down, until AUX OFF is displayed.
  • Next hold the right control knob to the left or right until Aux switches on.
  • Now just press the Menu button to exit.
  • AUX will now be an option when you scroll through the SRC button

Mp3 to aux input

Try putting the unit in standby via the "SRC" button FIRST..., then press the menu button and cycle through to the "AUX 1" option and activate this....then press menu button again. When the unit is next switched on, you should have an "AUX" option accessible via the "SRC" button which will cycle through all of the availale modes ....standby-tuner-cd-aux etc etc.

Use the remote and switch it to be in the sub mode (top right corner of remote) It is here (in the sub mode) that you can change volume and inputs.
