your clutch uses a hydraulic master and slave cylinder to disengage. It is likely that the slave has been leaking and the reservoir gone dry, thus allowing air into the system and reducing effectiveness. Check the clutch master cylinder reservoir (near the brake reservoir) fluid level. If low, also check the slave cylinder at the clutch for leakage. If leaking, replace the slave and bleed the system. Cluth cable ajustment if equiped. Some cars have a cluth cylender if your model has the cylender no ajustment is available. If you had your cluth changed at a garage you might consider takeing it back in for ajustments. If you changed the clutch check cluth cable for ajustment if your car is equiped with cable if not i would perhaps remove the transmission and inspect clutch for loose clutch plate or release bearing might not be seated properly hope this helped you.
Look for clutch master cylinder reservoir take the cap of and look if it miss fluid, if it add brake fluid and pump it for five minutes with cap off, if you notice that gets better control the level often,
try bleeding the cluth it sounds like you have air in the system.and have a look and se if the brakes and the cluth use the same fluid if there do bleed the brakes to
sound like your clutch master cyl is bad. when you push the clutch how does it feel? real soft like there is nothing there. i have also seen the T_O brg go bad and damage the pressure plate.
