Most of the CD drives will have an emergency eject hole. A small hole next to the Eject button. You can insert a ball-pin orr some other object into that hole and keep shoving while repeatedly pressing the eject button. Let me know if it worked. If it doesn't then i will give you instructions on taking the unit apart.

Hi

The player may have a perished or slipping load belt. Sometimes this can be resolved to get a disk out by jiggling the drawer a little as you attempt to unload. You will
need to replace the belt.

If the drawer mechanism has been forced, then it ,may be jammed, preventing the tray from opening. If the disc has become dislodged this may also be jamming the tray.

If you are ok with mechanical things you may be abl to dismantle and sort out th problem. If no, then your local repair guy will be able to help you. Enter you zip code into the fixer finder. :)

regards
robotek

The cd tray motor may be broken or stuck, You would have to take it apart and have a look around what is causeing the problem.

0201 does not say anything to me, but obviously its related to the cd tray. To fix it, take it apart and find the problem.

Does the tray try to come out? or does it just sit there as if noting has been pressed?

There is a small hole in the cd draw, insert a straightened paper clip in it and push,,

If you model does not have this,

1.) remove the top cover,
2.) loacte the Cd Holder (a Rount Disc Plasticem attached to the sides)
3.) remove the holder
4.) Lift out your disc,

The error code suggest a jammed draw or damager motor
When you remove the disc, slide the lens all the way back and gently press the Rount Spinner (THAT FITS IN THE CENTER OF THE DISC) down , then push the draw foward and back till you hear a slight locking sound, Turn on the power and check if the draw opens. If it does turn it off , re assemble.

If that fails check the cd draw motor or band, Replace as necessary,,

I'd suggest you take this to a certified Tech if you are unable to perform the above operations.

It's possible the laser lens has been knocked out of alignment. If there's a code after the ERROR message, you may be able to find a solution by reading the manual for the unit - they can often be found online if you don't have one. Good luck!

The CD loading mechanism is out of time and has not reset correctly. This cannot be reset. The loading mechanism must be dis-asembled and rebuilt. This is not a DYI repair. Any Panasonic service center can repair this for you.

On the first board (where the power enters) there is a tall 3 pronged switch, if you turn the board over and solder a piece of wire to the 2 outside prongs, you will find that the Amp works normally apart from that the display reads Cd closed when in Cd mode.

Sharp cd-ba1600 door won't open err 0201 displayed on screen

The slider mechanism, depending on the age of the unit and the manufacturer, consists of the small chrome rail, a drive motor, a small gear assembly, and (in some units) a small belt that drives the slider unit via the motor. This small belt causes all sorts of problems. If the belt is broken or slipping, it can cause skipping, dropouts, or simply no start up at all. Also, if the belt breaks in the middle of the disc, the drive mechanism gets hair or dirt wrapped up into the gears, or the pick-up assembly doesn’t return to the start position (called home), the unit will (99% of the time) refuse to release the disc, causing it to become stuck inside the unit. There’s a little micro or leaf type switch located at home position that sometimes gets dirty or breaks and, causing this problem also.
If the disc starts to spin slowly and doesn’t come up to speed, the spindle motor that’s attached to the turntable platter is a common problem. There could also be a problem with the spindle motor driver controller IC or the power supply regulator that supplies voltage to the driver IC. If the disc starts to spin and then spins really fast, or stops and starts to spin backwards, your problem is the laser pick-up assembly or the servo control circuit. If you continue to have problems after cleaning and checking the other things listed above, you may have a problem with the player's alignment. Of course, one of the problems you'll face checking alignments on a DVD/CD player is that you’re going to need to use an oscilloscope on most of them. If you have the proper tools and equipment, the first thing to look at is the RF pattern of the unit while its playing. It should be a sharp and clear pattern. If it's dull and smeared, then the laser could be weak.
Also, in these units are very critical alignments called the focus/tracking gains and offsets. When these alignments are off, it can often cause intermittent troubles. As the unit ages and parts change value, so do these alignments, and will need to be checked. In my time as service technician repairing DVD/CD players, 65% of the laser pick-up assembles I have tested were good and only needed a small adjustment. Today's technology makes it unfeasible for a shop to hook up a DVD/CD player, and even some recorders, to their equipment and make these adjustments because of the cost involved.

Hope this may help;

This is an indication that either the lens is dirty or that the optics are failing. Try opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, the optics will need to be replaced.

I have a simple stereo speaker from Radio Shack. Small metal case with two wire input latches. Each box has two speakers in side. Both speakers boxes went out at the same time. I wasn't there when this...

You need to measure across the speakers themselves n ot the crossover (cap). If these are 8 ohm speakers, an ohm meter will read about 6 or so. That is because both impedence and resistance use the same measurement. With an ohm meter you are measuring resistance. The speakers are rated using impedence.

If both speakers are open (measure infinity), I would suspect a problem with the stereo that caused them to go open. With the stereo on and playing something (radio,cd , or whatever) use a DC voltmeter to measure between the speaker terminals (Red/Black). You should read essentially 0 no matter what the volume. If you read any DC more than 3/4 V, the problem is with the amp section of the stereo.

This means that the unit can tell that a disc is present, but can not read it. Try opening up the top and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. Let us know if that resolves the problem.

My Panasonic CD player wont play any of my CD's and its a Panasonic CD Stereo System Model No.SC-ak610

Does it try to read the CD's are they spinning, if so it may need the laser lens cleaning. Or the rails that the little sledge that the laser moves backwards and forwards on may need cleaning and regreasing.
