Thanks. I think it is the 520, but I cannot be sure as the PC is at my ex-wife's home. Yet in my particular case it no longer matter. We have it working. The network controller only had to be selected and at this point I cannot recall exactly how I did it, but once restarted it has been working fine.
As for lahibnar, and my choosing inappropriate answer, sorry lahibnar but not many folk choose to look up a program which will automatically interpret different languages, so you'll need to find a program which does the reverse, interprets your Input as you type. I haven't the foggiest what you wrote above.
Same Problem
Jan 22, 2009
-   Sorry about the double post I didn't realize it would post unless I signed up since when I tried to post I was asked for a login name. I guess I've got some learning to do on this forum.
-   I wonder would you mind explaining how to locate system model number or Dell part number? There seem to be more than one number on the board & from within it is difficult to know where to look.
Oh no I just went to enter my email address & when it wouldn't let me I backspaced to try again & everything I had added to this to further explain my problem was missing, so I'll start all over again only this time I'll Copy & Paste if I have the same problem.
OK we wiped the drive, reloaded the full version XP Home & all works except for internet connectivity. Assuming that there is no NIC card, as the only 2 internal cards are the modem card by Conexant (RD01-D860) with two RJ-11's and the Nvidia graphics card, I believe I have a similar need for mother board drivers. Does this make sense? The Comcast tech told us to check online for the motherboard or NIC model numbers but I think now that I have the wrong motherboard number.

The only problem I am having is I cannot access the internet. A tech at Comcast told us to download drivers for the NIC card or the Motherboard. Since there are only two boards internal, one a modem board by Conexant & the other a Nvidia graphics board I must assume the driver s we need are for the motherboard.
The drive was wiped & we loaded the full version XP Home & all but the broadband connectivity is working fine.

Hi
E210882 is a number found on more than one Dell System Board. Dimension 8400 and 4600 come to mind. Possibly there are more. Secondly, E210882 is not a Dell Part number (DP/N or DS/N). While Dimension 8400 is a 775 socket, Dimension 4600 is a 478 socket. So they don't fall to the same family.
In any case the network controllers used on Dell System Boards are Intel and Broadcom.
To proceed, at least provide/confirm the system model. If this is not available, give the Dell Part Number.
