I have the sandisk 4 GB micro usb flash drive.  I was moving songs from my pc to my mac.  I deleted the songs off of my flash drive once i had moved them to my mac.  I then removed the flash drive with out ejecting it.  Later i tried to move more songs onto the flash drive from my pc but couldn't.  On both my pc and my mac the flash drive reads that it has no files on it yet there is only 114 MB of space available on it.  Is there any way i can fix this?

Im not sure how to fix the problem if you use windows, but if you use a mac then the steps below can help.  I use a mac and followed the steps below and now my flash drive is fully functioning again.
Connect it to the Mac.
Launch Disk Utility from Applications > Utilities.
Choose the drive from the list.
Click on the Erase tab.
In the Volume Format drop down list, choose Mac OS Extended.
If you want to Zero out the drive, choose that option from Security Options.
Click on the Erase button.
Sorry if this didn't help.

Hello, I have an 8GB PNY flash drive. Recently, I plugged it into my laptop and it does not show a single file on the drive. It shows the drive is full when I go to properties, but there is nothing on...

Files on a flash drive canbe corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon andthen click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flashdrive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you need to format the flash drive, but you willlose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Sometimes when a flash memory stick or USB external hard drive fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.

When the flash memory USB hard drive device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash or USB hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Healthy.

You need to format the flash or external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32. (FAT32 will allow data to be exchanged between MACs and PCs).
Insert the flash or external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that it is Health

Many people still don't realize this, but flash memory wears out the more you delete and write files to it. How quickly it wears out will depend on the specific flash drive. Like anything, there is a wide range of quality in currently available flash memory-based drives. You can make a rough correlation with the cost/quality of the device (what you pay is what you get), but even that tends to change over time. Depending on usage and quality it could be talking as short as months or as long as several years. In extreme cases of misuse it could lasting as little as a few weeks.

When I open JPEG file, I get ''No preview available''

If ou copied them from a flash memory card eg SD, USB, its possible that a setting on the port or card reader was incorrect and the file did not copy correctly even though the file size may look correct.

It is not a common problem but one that does happen from time to time with removable memory devices. If you plug a usb flash drive in then call up its properties from within windows explorer and check the various tabs you will find one that says optimise for quick removal it is usually under the policy tab.

The problem wasn't my flash drive, it was the USB cable that ran from my printer to my hard drive. All I had to do was change the location of the USB cable to another location and the flash drive worked after that with no problems.
