The Best Way to Connect Your PS3 To the Internet/Wifi

1 Make sure your wireless Internet connection is active and at full strength. Unplug the PS3's Ethernet cable if it is plugged into the system.

2 Turn on the Playstation 3 game console and select "Network Settings" under the "Settings" option in the main menu.

3 Select the "Internet Connection Settings" tab and select "Yes" when the system displays a new screen saying you will be disconnected from the Internet.

4 Select "Easy" on the next screen that asks what type of installation you want to use.

5 Select "Wireless" when it asks you what type of Internet connection you have.

6 Select "Scan" on the next screen.The system will search for all available Internet connections in the area.

7 Select your home Internet connection when the screen pops up displaying the available Internet options. Select your security settings and enter your encryption key. Save your settings.

8 Test the connection by selecting the "Test Connection" option. If the connection has been made, your network information will appear on the screen.

Before you can go online on the PS3, there is need for you to have either a wireless lan network or a wired network with an ethernet cable.
If you are using a wireless network, here is how you go about it
