I'm getting the error message ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED. Whenever I try to fix it by going into options and clicking the change proxy button, nothing happens. From what I've read a new box is supposed to appear with settings I can change to fix this problem, but that never happenes. What can I do to fix it?

It means that the computer that _should_ be running a web-server, to send web-pages to you when you request pages from it, is _NOT_ running the web-server server.

Start Internet Explorer

Select Internet Options

Highlight the BTopenworld connection and click [Settings]

Check that 'Use a proxy server...' and 'Use automatic configuration script' options do not have ticks next to them. (If they do, untick them).

error 81003004 is a connection problem,
Connection Problems;
1. Open your Internet Explorer
2. Go to Tools > Internet Options then click the Connections tab
3.Click the LAN Settings button and a new dialog box will open
4. At the new dialog box, look for the Proxy server checkbox, if this is checked, uncheck it.check connect directly to internet then click ok
5. Then your done, click OK button for the dialog boxes.
6. Try logging in to your Yahoo Messenger account.

Change your messenger connection settings. I had to check "Connect via a proxy server " in order to sing in.
Goto Connection  Prefrences and use a http proxy.

Are you behind a firewall (like one in schools) or using proxy??

If so, see any options are available to change the connection settings in yahoo messenger before connecting.

Hello, i have a fix for this issue. make sure that the default browser is installed and running correctly on your pc. if you know its installed go into internet options and select make default browser and click apply.



This is a fix only if you have installed a new web browsing application but did not select it to be your default browser.

as far as wat i did to my YM.

i simply checked the connection preferences and turned

"Connect via a proxy server."

then select

"HTTP proxy"

after that take a look at your internet connection dropdown list..

some mistakes are seen here.. instead of having the "broadband" connection selected the "dial-up" connection was chosen by YM itself..

make sure you have the latest update on software by using windows update

Make sure messenger is off, then go to regedit then open up HKEY CURRENT USER then open up SOFTWARE then open up MICROSOFT then open up WINDOWS then open up CURRENT VERSION then click on Internet Settings but dont open it just click on it then go half way down the list to find PROXY ENABLE,PROXY SERVER,PROXY OVERRIDE then click on PROXY ENABLE click modify binary and change from 0x00000000 (1) to 0x00000000 (0) then delete PROXY SERVER and PROXY OVERRIDE and there you go sign into messenger this has worked perfect for me hope it does for you.

Messenger tab just above where you sign in and then click the Connection Preference option
