Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
My xbox 360 doesnt read games. Basically i put a game in the console then it starts reading it then the tray opens up again., When i turn the Xbox 360 on the tray automatically opens up. and when the console turns off the tray opens up n shuts off with the tray out., I also here like a rattling sound coming from the tray like its rubbing against the top or bottom inside of the tray. If anyone has a solution to this please help me out here,
3 Simple Steps to Fixing this problem :1.Take out and disks in the tray and turn it off. 2.Lay the XBOX 360 Horizontally and give the xbox 5-10 medium bangs with your palm or fist (top Left of the XBOX). 3.Turn it on, Put in a Game ! SUCCESS ! Hope it Helps There is a vid, Hope this helped. =D

the newest dashboard update disallows discs from playing if it detects the xbox is too hot. when you put a disc in, it just spins once as if they tray was empty with and displays a "open tray" message
Basically you have to keep your Xbox extra cool- don't put it on the carpet, or underneath anything. maximize airflow around it. consider getting a cooler. vertically has more surface area. keep vents clean and clear. be careful about playing it too much.

Xbox360 have crappy drives, with open faces that draw in dust and dirt from the limited cooling slots, and upward facing lenses that are ideal resting places for the drawn in dirt. they should never be rested on the floor when in use.
a can of compressed air cleaner from a pc store with its small nozzle works in blowing clean the lenses and drive tray sensors. do it through the partially open drive tray as opening the case voids the MS warranty, and you will need the warranty when your xbox360 dies a red ring death.
