I get the infocus start-up screen but nothing after this, just says that it is searching......but never finds anything. What could be wrong, we have it hooked up to tv. ??? Tried changing sources but don't...

Hey JKDoering,
There is a chance something is wrong with the cord or connectino the TV is using. Try hooking it up directly to a laptop or other equipment. Trying that will let you know if it is a problem between the TV and projector, or the projector itself.
Thanks,

I cannot get the computer image to appear.

On your keyboard, bottom left is the Function "FN" key. This is hel down and then press the F series key on top row that has either lcd or a monitor icon on it. Maybe F5, F7 or F8. This tells the pc you hooked up an additional monitor. Once sends image to projector and laptop. Twice, only projector. Three times back to only laptop. Let me know this worked.

Need to get a torpedo projector to work with laptop

Unfortunately, there is no simple VGA-to-RCA adapter cable if you're connecting to a composite video input (usually colored yellow) or s-video input. VGA output is separate red, green and blue video and synchronizing signals, and they all need to be combined. You need a VGA-to-video converter to do this.

If the projector has component video input jacks, then you can buy a simple adapter cable.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using Fixya!

We need to know how to hook the projector up to the laptop to project a power point presentation

You will need a VGA cable that can connect the projector to the laptop. This is usually the same cable that connects a monitor to a desktop computer.

Once you have the two connected, you will have to tell the laptop to send the video signal down the cable. This is normally done by pressing the FN (function) key on the bottom row of the keyboard, and the F8 key on the top. It will normally cycle through the following modes: laptop only (default), external, laptop and external.

Hope this helps and good luck.

LCD projector not displaying image of the laptop

On that Dell, you have to tell the laptop to display the image on an external unit--look on either F4 or F8--you will find a small TV screen symbol. You have to press and hold "alt" and press the key. The options are, 1-show image on just the laptop, 2-show the image on the laptop *and* something else, (like a projector), or 3-show an image on JUST an external display. NOTE: Sometimes, you have to turn on the projector FIRST, then immediately turn on the laptop so they boot together--just one of those strange things...(remember, **for example** first press of "alt" F4 will get you laptop and projector, second press of "alt F4 will get you JUST the projector, third press of the keys will bring you back to just the laptop)---Rick

Connecting cinego projector to hp laptop

don't know much about the cinego ( resolution ect)

but on most laptops you will have a "F" button or function key near the top row.. mine is F5 that has 2 square icons to show 2 monitors, 1 black, 1 white, when your projector is hooked to your laptop, hold down the FN key probably lower left or right, and tap the F5 or f7 which ever has the 2 montiors on it, it should be a 3 position switch, 1..laptop only, 2 laptop and projector, 3rd position projector only.

that cingo is pretty low-end so you may have to goto display properties on your laptop and reduce the resolution to 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768.

if you can't get a setting that works, try the 3rd position with just the projector display on, and laptop display off, since your laptop screen is higher resolution it corrects a lot of issues.
