same here. i was missing the c,i and s. i plugged it in to my computer via USB and, sure enough, problem solved! thanks for the good tip.

I have had the same problem with my 250W. I have not yet tried to hookit up to the USB port, but I assume that will work based on what's beenposted here (and for the 200). But my reason for writing is this: I know just enoughabout programming to be very suspicious that this not just a random"bug" but rather a deliberate degradation (planned obsolescence)introduced by the manufacturer to try to induce owners to buy thedatabase updates at something like $60 a pop. It's hard to explainthis weird behavior in any other obvious way. I hope I'm wrong, becausethat kind of cynical manipulation would be highly unethical, and Iwould vow to never buy another Garmin product if it ever turned out tobe true. Just sayin'.

The same things happened to my Nuvi 200w. I have 2 -A's and 2 - T's. No I or W. I think the warrenty is 1 year and I got it for x-mas last year so the timing of the problem makes me wonder. I am in the process of looking for a way to fix the problem.

Install BX fonts

BX fonts at this time are compatible with Embrilliance keyboard lettering software. It is a file that is created by mapping alphabet design fonts in Embrilliance AlphaTricks. After the alphabet design font letters are mapped, the BX file is made and can be then installed in Embrilliance Essentials to choose from when using the keyboard lettering function.

Some vendors who offer alphabet design fonts (each letter/digit is a design at a specific size) will also offer the BX file for that alphabet design font so users of Embrilliance lettering software can also use it as a keyboard lettering font. More information about BX fonts can be found at the Embrilliance web site: Embrilliance embroidery software for Mac and PC

Note, to install a new font in a machine, you must contact and purchase from the machine manufacturer.

My key board is not showing correct alfbabet ( u i o p j k l m & * ( ) ) i have to pressFn to get correct words fn

Hi there
By correct alphabet do you mean the English alphabet?
Some computers have a "curtain" where you can change between languages..
Being Icelandic my personal experience is that to make a keyboard Icelandic the salespeople put the letters on a small lables ( with a kind of a glue to make them stick) to the letters on the keyboard to make it an Icelandic keyboard.
Once you have gotten used to the keyboard like that there is no problem to use the English one ---your brain has learnt to tell the fingers go to the correct keys.-
Take contact with the people/shop that sells your type of laptop and ask them to put the correct letters on the correct keys.
Good luck

Some of alphabet is coming in form of number. pl. help.

Try this.
It stumped myself and some true experts once. We were having problems with the keyboard in a darkened room.
There is a Function ( "F" or "FN") key on the lower left of the keyboard. It's labeling is often blue in color. In low light conditions, you cannot see the blue coloring. It is used to turn a section of the keyboard into a calculator. That section will have dark blue numbers written on the keys that change function. For example the K may have a dark blue number 2 written on it. In other words, When you type the Alphabet you come up with some numbers substituted for letters and not all of the keys may function. Give it try.
Best Regards,
Mark

How do I get the at sign on this turkish keyboard

Should be shift and key 2

how to add the Turkish keyboard to your computer running Windows and how to utilize this new keyboard layout.

There are six letters in the Turkish alphabet that are not in the English alphabet, namely '?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?'.

For writing these letters without going into the hassle of using the alt codes or copy-pasting from some other location, you can simply add the Turkish keyboard layout to your Windows computer system.

Using the same keyboard, the layout will change a little to let you allow to type the Turkish letters.

Windows XP and Windows 2000 Users
Go to start/control panel

Here, if you see Date, Time, Language, and Regional Optionsdouble click on it and continue with Add other languages.

Select the Languages tab in the window that will show and click on the button that says Details...In the Settings tab of the window that comes now, click the button that says Add... In the drop-down box titled Input Language, select Turkish. In the drop-down box below that, named Keyboard layout/IME, select Turkish Q and click OK. Click OK until all the windows we opened are gone.
In the control panel, if you don't see Date, Time, Language, and Regional Optionsicon but there is an icon titled Regional and Language Options, double click that.

These instructions apply for the following versions of windows:

• Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition
• Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard Edition
• Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
• Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition
• Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition
• Microsoft Windows Small Business Server 2003 Premium Edition
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Edition
• Microsoft Windows 2000 Server

Windows 98, and Windows Me Users
Go to Start/Settings/Control Panel/Keyboard

Click on the Language tab here, and then click the button Add.

Now, from the list of languages you see, select Turkish. Say OK until all the windows we opened are gone.

Missing letters from my alphabet

You will most likely need a firmware upgrade from this website to fix the problem: http://www8.garmin.com/products/webupdater/howtoinstall.jsp
It will walk you through the steps and your letters should be back to normal after the update.

Keyboard corrupt

Me three. Just happened today. The keyboard is missing letters. I'm in the process of letting the battery die and see if that will serve as a hard reset, which it seems like it needs.
