If the freezer is working okay, it sounds like your freezer coils may be iced over. This can happen for numerous reasons, but the most common I've seen is either the defrost timer is broken, or the defrost heaters are defective. Yes, your freezer has one or more heaters in it (self-defrosting models only, of course)!!

To check the defrost timer, you'll need to find it first. Mine was located in the refrigerator side, behind the panel where the thermostat is located. There's a place where you can insert a flat-blade screwdriver and turn it (one way only). If you can turn it and the refrigerator turns off (and it didn't before), you may have a busted timer. If you're handy with a voltage tester, you can test the output of the leads. If not, don't try it 'cause voltage can be dangerous.

The defrost heaters are in the freezer section, normaly behind a panel that is behind all your trays, shelves, and/or drawers. Likewise, these can be tested with a multimeter, but ONLY do so with the refrigerator UNPLUGGED!!

good luck!

Kenmore side by side, fan on, lights on, compressor hot, no cool.

You probably have a bad overload/relay on the compressor . The piece which plugs onto the compressor . Or a bad fan which cools the compressor (condensor fan motor ). Also check the coils to make sure they are clean . Would need the first 3 numbers before the ones you gave , to be able to give you the part number for the o/r .

Kenmore side by side cold spot 4 years old just stopped cooling and freezing

Defrost problem is possibly the reason. I need to know the model number for example 213.25897 would be a way that Sears identifies their appliances. Let me know which model and we will go from there. Thanks, Sea Breeze

Fresh side not cooling

I will assume until you can confirm the model number is near Sears KENMORE ELITE, Model No. 10650594000 But I will need you to double check because Sears always uses a number different than the MFG.
For the moment I need you to remove some things from the freezer and remove the back panel covering the evaporator coils. Look for the coils to be frozen over. If so it could be the adaptive defrost control found inside the fresh food compartment part number 4388932
Or a problem with defrost thermostat or the defrost element. I am here to help, Just let me know, Sea Breeze

Freezer is fine. Fridgerator portion does not cool .

The most likely cause is a bad evaperator fan motor. It is mounted in the freezer section. It blows the air up to the ref section. Open the freezer door and listen to see if you hear any fan noise.
