Thanks. One last question: can I get this MB from HP or they don't sell it?
    Thanks!

  • romansantini Jan 04, 2011

will this MB do as much as the original (faulty) one?

I need to be super sure since I live abroad and the computer was bought here - at Best Buy and never worked!; I found that out as soon as I reach Brazil. Now I am back to the US and looking for the right MB.

My concern is if I return to Brazil and this MB is not the right one... (again!).

    Thanks for your advise

Hello, you can replace the mainboard to another MicroATX mainboard. It does not have to be the same mainboard.

I need to know the brand and model of the computer to look up a compatible board for you.

It will probably cost less than what the exact same board from HP would cost.

do you have any questions? let me know.

Please check and see if this is your computer:

thanks, I'll look up a compatible board for you and sent you a link and details.

  • Ekse Jan 04, 2011

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

takes your CPU and your RAM from the old mainboard. Has a build in video card. if you don't have a pci-e slot card.

Should have everything that you need.

As for the old mainboard, you have to contact HP repair and spare parts directly, as far as I know no, unless you contact them directly and they might have a few. but you will not notice the difference in the computer by using another board.

3 year warranty on this mainboard, is much better than what hp would send you with few months or 1 year warranty.

  • Ekse Jan 05, 2011

Hp does not make its own motherboards most are made by asus and other makers, these are the same parts that are used in every computer.

There is no change in the performance of your computer by changing to this motherboard.

This mainboard supports the same CPU, that you need to remove from the old mainboard and attach to this one.

The memory is also supported. It takes the 8 GB and up to 16 GB.

You can buy this mainboard almost anywhere in the world or one close to it.

If you where using the old mainboards video card that is build into it on gaming, the performance in 3d games might suffer a little. but for gaming it is best to purchase a separate video card.

I see there is no mini pci-e connector on the new board that is only on the hp board, is something connected to it?

  • Ekse Jan 05, 2011

    look at this picture:
    http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs...

the 3 volt battery on the bottom - center of the mainboard. next to it is a small mini pci-e connector probably white, is something attached to it? if there is, then that won't work on the new mainboard.

Where can I find a manual for the following HP motherboard: Infineon-B 620887-001 H-Alvorix-RS880-uATX:1.00? I need jumper pin placements, memory and beep code info.

lost the PC (story?) and PC case lost did you?
or bought a used mobo raw off of ebay or worse amazon?
a used MOBO PULL.
that code off mobo is the contract codes
HP to Infineon?, it is not any kind of HP partnumber real.
so for fun I did the reverse look up for you.
using
HP Pavilion P6710f it is. top sticker on mobo tells what it is.
go here, click country
type P6710F and see lots of models that used this board world wide, only a real service tag number now lost tells exactly all things that were inside the PC new.

When I plug in my power supply the CPU cooler automatically comes on along with the motherboards light flashing repeatebly. How would I fix this? It worked beore this perectly.

check that the power switch on the case isn't stuck or that the power connection on the motherboard isn't shorted. (not the power supply, but the connection to the switch).

Download e139761 manual a10383

An old Intel entry server motherboard, that uses a Slot 1 Intel processor,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-S875WP1-E-Entry-Server-Motherboard-E139761-D33025-Free-Shipping-/321064089691?pt=US_Server_Boards&hash=item4ac0e9385b

Over by the white IDE connector on the Right side of the motherboard, (Motherboard installed in computer case), there is a 9-pin Front Panel header.

It is the usual Intel 9-pin Front Panel header,

I bought a HP 6710f Pavillion desktop, running windows 7, and found out it only has a 250 watt power supply. I turned around and bought an Antec Greenwatts 500 watt ATX 12v v2.3 psu to install for future...

Presuming you mean the Earthwatts 500:
Should work, though the Earthwatts has the 24 pin ATX instead of the 20-pin.
http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/manuals/Antec-Earthwatts-EA-500D-user-manual.pdf
You just need to snap the 24-pin connector apart to make it work as a 20-pin. It can be snapped back together for future motherboards.
The Bestec is just a standard ATX power supply
