Question about Mitsubishi WS-48413 48" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Caption I can't get the caption to turn off on my Mitsubishi WS-48413. I've gone in the menu and selected off for both analog and digital modes, but it's not changing anything. It's driving me nuts!

You were right! I called the cable company, and they walked me through going through the set up menu on the cable box to take the captions off. It was probably a signal that was sent from Comcast that turned it on, not my kids (which I originally thought)! :)

Sometimes if you have a cable or satellite box as source.(if your case )then you would have to turn it off in the cable or satellite box.

The CC feature is available when watching regular analog (NTSC) TV.

Select from CC1, CC2, CC3 or CC4. Closed Caption for regular TV is

usually CC1 or CC2.

The Digital CC Style feature is available when watching digital TV.

Select either As Broadcaster or Custom. If Custom is selected then

I haven't been able to put closed captioning on tv. I don't understand how and what code to use to get the closed captioning to work.

Enable Caption Using the Original Remote

  2. Using this button will set the Closed Caption mode when viewing a DTV or TV channel.
Enable Caption Using the TV Menu
  1. Open the Menu screen, select the third icon, in the middle, this is the Setup Menu.
  2. In the Setup Menu, choose the Caption option.
  3. Caption: There are three items in it - Analog Closed Caption, Digital Closed Caption and Digital Caption Style
  • Analog Closed Caption: CC1, CC2, CC3, CC4, TEXT1,TEXT2, TEXT3, TEXT4.
  • Digital Closed Caption: Service1, Service2, Service3, Service4, Service5, Service6.
  • Digital Caption Style: There are two Caption Styles. One is the automatic function set as the broadcaster, while the other is the custom style where you can adjust the font size, color, opacity, background color etc., accordingly.

My TV seem to be on wide screen and it shows half the picture, how do I set it up on full screen? No other material is connected to the TV

Hello
If your TV displays a black box type shade on the screen means that your TV may be set to "Text" mode. To clear the screen, select "Caption Off mode".
To do this, press "MENU" button to display menu functions on the screen. Press "channel up or channel down" button to select the function "CAPTION". Press "Volume Up or Volume Down " button to select the mode you wish. There are five modes that you can select; Caption-Off; Caption-C1; Caption-C2; Caption-T1 and Caption-T2. As no other matereial is connected to your TV, you just select "CAPTION-OFF". When done press the Menu button again to exit menu display. Ok.

I can't get the closed caption off the screen

Closed caption can come from one of two places--either in the sets own menu---CC! etc or if you are using a box to provide signal to the set it can come from there.

Look first is the set's own menu---Closed caption is a option there.

If not selected in set menu call up box menu and look for it there.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Close captioning

Well lets try the simple things first, Go to the TVs menu using the original TV remote and find the icon or menu that says Captions, in that menu turn all the closed captions OFF. Second there is a button on the original TV remote that says format, push this till you get to a screen that says FULL in the upper left corner. That should resolve your problems, If closed caption still comes through then we need to know if this set is hooked directly to cable or goes through a cable box. It sound like you simply had the closed caption turned on and the screen in one of the zoom formats this TV provides

Assuming whatever your TV receiving from has close caption. (Not all TV channel has close caption) Solution 1) Get a new universal remote that support your model and has close caption button. Once you program in the code for your TV model and it works then all button should also programmed including th close caption button. Solution 2) Search online for the owner manual and read see how to turn it on using buttons on TV (if possible). Solution 3) Get new TV with close caption. (If you have an old old TV with bad and huge pixels then this solution is the best. Your eyes will thank you.)
