Question about Fuji FinePix F11 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Formatting I turn on the camera, and it informs me that the card is not 'inatilized'. The reserch I have done says it must be 're-formatted' on the camera, but the manual says nothing about it. How do you 're-format' a fugifilm FinePix F11?

The memory card is re-formatted by selecting the FORMAT option in the camera's set-up section in the main memory. It will ask you to verify that you wish to re-format and then erase all of the data on the memory card so that you can start using it.

Please help, i have lost a lot of pictures from my camera and i have a horrible feeling i pressed the format button without realising what id done. Are all my pictures lost?

Unfortunately, if you formatted the card, yes they are gone. The memory is flash memory, and reformatting erases all information on the card. You might try taking the card out and downloading to your your computer, but it sounds like they won't be there. Always be careful, once you format a card there is no turning back.

Hi,

Thanks for asking me to be your Tech Buddy.

On to your concern, normally yes, you would have to format the HDD/memory card. This could be done internally using the onboard format command/feature of the camera.

Alternately, if the HDD/memory card is removable, you can use a USB connected card reader or HDD adapter and then using the format command in your PC.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
