Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Panasonic model PT-60Lc14 LCD projection tv and the lamp burned out I replaced it with a new one and it will stay on for awhile then turn off . Yes the cooling fan is running . This is not an old set but out of warranty. It also says to reset the the hour meter once a new bulb is installed but that is it. where is the hour meter for the lamp. Any ideas on what next? Thanks, Dean

The site suggested would not open. I finally just used google and typed in the lamp number and asked how to reset the TV lamp hour to 0 and received the exact instructions immediately. Why the HECK they do not put this information in the manual that comes with the TV is beyond me it just states to reset lamp hour to 0. Call your local technician."SURE". All said and done the procedure is simple put your finger on the tv volume - and on the remote split screen button you hold down on both at the same time for 5 seconds and lamp reset is shown on screen. That is how simple it was. hope this helps somebody as this site did not.

Replacing lamp need directions

Step one: Turn off the set and let it cool down.
Step two: There should be an access panel saying lamp on the back
on the cover. You will need a phillips or flat bladed screw
some models are different.
Step three:Be sure you take out of the screws that are holding the
lamp. I know on RCA there are about two holding it place.
Step four: Carefully pulled the lamp out and put the new one in it.
Make certain that you screws the lamp screws down not to
over tighten .
Step five: Put the lamp cover back on, plug the set in and let it boot up
you are back in business.

How to reset the meter of lamp

You need to have your Panasonic remote.
1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

PIP for Models:

SPLIT for Models:

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.

You will find a PDF of the instructions at this site:
